Private Pilot License DL (H)

BROCHURE

The PPL DL (H) Training Program provides appropriate theoretical knowledge and flight instructions to
students for preparation of their respective General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) examinations and
practical skill test for the issuance of Private Pilot License for Helicopter PPL (H) in accordance with GCAA-
CAR FCL regulations.

TRAINING PROGRAM
A particular advantage of distance learning is that you can work at your own pace. As such, it is ideal
for individuals who are working full time and cannot afford to spare enough time to attend classes regularly.
The PPL DL is conducted in three phases:
 Theoretical Knowledge Distance Learning-Home study phase
 Theoretical Knowledge Classroom instruction in Fujairah Aviation Academy phase
 Flying phase in Fujairah Aviation Academy
Student will do online study for PPL DL and once he/she has done and completed the entire progress test,
he/she will be eligible to start with the classroom instruction, internal and GCAA exam in Fujairah Aviation
Academy.
Once student passes all examinations, he/she is eligible to start actual flight training.

Phase 1: Theoretical Knowledge Distance Learning

The Distance Learning Phase constitutes of 41 hours which are divided into the following subjects:
Human Performance & Limitations, Air Law & ATC Procedures, Operational Procedures, Meteorology,
Communications and Navigation.

Phase 2: Theoretical Knowledge Classroom Instruction & Internal and GCAA exam
The Classroom instruction constitutes of 69hours (3 weeks) divided into the following subjects:
Human Performance & Limitations, Air Law & ATC Procedures, Operational Procedures, Meteorology,
Communications, Navigation, Aircraft General Knowledge and Principles of Flight.

Note: Classroom instructions are followed by internal & GCAA examinations.

IMPORTANT NOTE

Upon registration the students are required to appear on the scheduled refresher course within 12 months. Failing
to attend the said refresher course the student will be required to re-enroll again. All GCAA exams are to be
passed within 18 months from your first GCAA exam sitting

Phase 3: Flight Training

Aircraft Type Technical Training

Flight training-45hrs will be conducted in Fujairah Aviation Academy

REQUIREMENTS FOR COURSE ENROLLMENT

1. Applicants must be at least 17 years of age.
2. A valid class 2 GCAA medical certificate.
3. Applicants must have one of the following levels at English language: -
a- Minimum of 4.5 in IELETS (In each skill level)
b- Minimum of 60% in TOEFEL
c- Minimum of 50% at FujAA examination center.

Notes: -
1. Applicants must be 16 years of age to go solo flying
2. Applicants must be 17 years old for the issuance of the license

COURSE DURATION
The total duration of the course is approximately 30 weeks

COURSE FEES
AED 82,000 (AED Eighty-Two Thousands Only).
The Fees are exclusive of UAE-VAT which will be charged additionally.

1. Induction training.
2. iPad and PPL DL E-learning software
3. Theoretical Knowledge (Distance learning and Classroom instruction)
4. Single Engine Flight Training (45hrs).
5. Uniform – 2 sets.
6. Fujairah Aviation Academy Internal exams (two attempts per each subject)
7. GCAA examination fees (one attempt per each subject)

PAYMENT SCHEDULE
1. First installment of AED 22,000 +UAE VAT payable prior to course start date.
2. The remaining amount (AED 60,000 will be paid in three equal installments of AED 20,000 each in the
succeeding months (3X20,000) +UAE VAT
The Fee is exclusive of UAE-VAT which will be charged additionally
Notes:-
1. The costs stated above are minimum rates and it may vary depending upon each individual’s
capability of learning. The duration of the course also depends upon the attendance of the student,
weather conditions and the various maintenance requirements for the aircraft.
2. All Payments are Non-Refundable.
