XXI CENTURY
WARM-UP
Start the lesson by playing with letters.
First, divide the students into groups.
There are four people in each group.
Then leaflets with letters are distributed,
and students must find the right words.
And these words will be associated with
a new topic.
LEAD-IN
What do you know about trends in the development
of visual art in the XX-XXI century?
Are you familiar with these works?
TRENDS

Expressionism. Cubism. Fauvism.

FAUVISM
“Fauvism was for us, a trial by fire... Paints became cartridges with
gunpowder. They literally exploded from the light."
Andre Derain

Peculiarities of Fauvism:
The paintings were distinguished by
their unusual brightness of colors,
deliberate roughness of form, and
broad strokes. They left the viewer
with a feeling of energy and passion.

DADAISM
The Dadaists – the "monteurs" (mechanics) –
used scissors and glue rather than
paintbrushes and paints to express their
views of modern life through images
presented by the media.

WRAP-UP

News Broadcast.
This fun wrap-up activity is perfect for lesson
closures and will create a culture of learning. Divide
students into pairs and have each pair summarize an
idea or subject in the form of a news broadcast. You
can make it fun with props, a camera crew, and even
a teleprompter.
