(Grade 12 - GAS)

A. CONTENT STANDARD:
The learners demonstrate an understanding of: ICT as a tool, medium, and force in
bringing about action and mobilize change in a population, society, or culture.
B. PERFORMANCE STANDARD
The learners shall be able to: at the end of the week independently articulate how ICT
tools and platforms have changed the way people communicate, and how social
change has been brought about by the use of ICTs.

Share anecdotes of how he/she has used ICTs to be part of a social movement,
change, or cause to illustrate aspects of digital citizenship. CS_ICT11/12-ICTPT-IIl-15

I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:

1. Make students exemplify how ICTs have changed the way people communicate
2. Make students illustrate how ICTs can serve as tools to create social change; and
3. Make students share personal experiences in using ICT to be part of social movement, change,
or cause.

III. Learning Procedure

a. Preparatory activities (5 min)

Performing Using the Max and Min Function.
 Individual activity- compute the following:

1. Motivation (3 min.)
 Let the students solve the given problem manually.
If your age in year 2018 is 16, what is your age in year 2020?

 Discussion and Demonstration
Show to the students on how to use the IF function.
 Steps in using the IF function:
1. Click on the cell you want to perform the IF function.
2. Click the Formulas tab, go to the Function Library group and
click the AutoSum drop-down button.
3. On the drop-down menu, click the More Functions and on
the Insert Function dialog box select the IF command.
4. On the Function Argument dialog box, fill up the required
information on the boxes.
5. Logical test is a statement that gives condition and can be
evaluated by true or false. For example, B15>=75 (the value
of the cell B15 is greater than or equal to 75)
6. On the value IF_true, it is the value that is returned if the
logical test is TRUE. For example, “PASSED” (the text will
appear on the selected cell if the value of B15 satisfy the
condition.)
7. On the value IF_false, it is the value that is returned if the
logical test is FALSE. For example, “FAILED” (the text will
appear on the selected cell if the value of B15 does not
satisfy the condition.)
8. IF you had already filled up the function argument, click
OK.
9. Another way is on the formula bar, type the following
formula
=IF(B15>=75,”PASSED”,”FAILED”)
10. The formula should always start with an equal sign (=) and
separated by commas (,).

 Let the students perform the activity.


 Refer to the given activity sheet.

 Call students to present their output

2. Create a new file and Enter the data on the worksheet below.
3. Compute the average grade and use the IF function in remarks.
