PILOT INSTRUMENT PANEL − DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

1. General

Refer to Figure 1.

A. Pilot Instrument Panel − General

The pilot instrument panel is located forward of the left control column. The pilot instrument
panel consists of the instruments and placards that follow:

(1) Airspeed Indicator

The airspeed indicator provides an indication of the aircraft airspeed to the pilot. For the
description and operation of the airspeed indicator, refer to Chapter 34.

(2) Encoder Altimeter

The encoder altimeter provides an indication of the aircraft altitude to the pilot. For the
description and operation of the encoder altimeter, refer to Chapter 34.

(3) Vertical Speed Indicator

The vertical speed indicator provides an indication of the aircraft vertical speed. For the
description and operation of the vertical speed indicator, refer to Chapter 34.

(4) Electronic Attitude Director Indicator

The electronic attitude director indicator provides indications of the aircraft attitude to the
pilot. For the description and operation of the electronic attitude director indicator, refer to
Chapter 34.

(5) Electronic Horizontal Situation Indicator

The electronic horizontal situation indicator provides indications of the aircraft heading
and navigation information to the pilot. For the description and operation of the electronic
horizontal situation indicator, refer to Chapter 34.

(6) Soft Stop Placard

The soft stop placard provides soft stop adjustment data to the pilot.

(7) Airspeed Limitations Placard

The airspeed limitations placard provides information on the minimum and the maximum
speeds of the aircraft to the pilot.

(8) GPS MSG/GPS WPT Annunciators (Aircraft Serial Nos. 2003, 2004, 2008, 2009, 2020,
2021, 2027 to 2049, 2051 and subsequent Pre SB 215-4272 and Kelowna Flight Craft
STC No. SA 04-032,
and on Aircraft Serial Nos. 2001, 2002, 2005 to 2007, 2010 to 2019, 2022 to 2026, and
2050 Post SB 215-4011, Pre SB 215-4272 and Kelowna Flight Craft
STC No. SA 04-032).

The GPS MSG annunciator provides an indication when there is a message to be viewed
on the global positioning system (GPS) receiver/display unit. The GPS WPT annunciator
provides an indication that a waypoint has been reached. Refer to Chapter 34.

On aircraft Post SB 215-4272 and Kelowna Flightcraft STC No. SA 04-032,


the GPS MSG/WPT annunciator light is removed and annunciators for the flight
management system (FMS) and autopilot system are installed. For further information
the FMS and autopilot systems, refer to Kelowna Flightcraft Autopilot Maintenance
Manual Supplement.
