Vermin Heart Loresheet

Often overlooked and commonly reviled, insects permeate the world like no other animal,
finding their way into the cracks and corners of both wilderness and urban sprawl. You might
have worked with them as mortal, maybe even related on a personal level to something about
them. Perhaps you’re one of the Nosferatu, a rare Gangrel, or something much darker.
Whatever the source might be, you’ve got a mystical affinity for that which skitters.

1. Nest Builder

Like the more social of your small friends, you have a keen instinct for building and maintaining
a nest that is comfortable and secure. Add 1 to the base haven rating of your primary haven. If
your primary haven changes, this bonus is transferred as well.

2. Will of the Hive

When you have a job to do, you do it. Inspired by the tireless efficiency of worker insects of all
sorts, when your community needs something to be done, you will get it done. Once per story
when carrying out a task for the benefit of your clan or coterie, you can add 2 dice for tests
directly involved in progress towards the completion of that task, for the duration of one session.
However, if you for some reason stray from your duty, you take one aggravated willpower
damage.

3. Making Their Skin Crawl

Many people are less than comfortable around your skittering friends. There’s an evolutionary
instinct in many creatures that rears by the presence of insects, or even sensations that evoke
them. Most people know someone that will lose all composure at the sight of a spider or wasp.
You have developed an uncanny ability to touch on this instinct, drawing out primal fear from
your victim. Once per night you can add 3 dice to a single intimidation roll when within
conversational distance of your target.

4. Through the Cracks

Like many proverbial pests, you have a knack for finding ways into places that the owners really
don’t want you to. You see the points of access that others miss or gloss over, and know how to
exploit them. Whether it’s a deliberately cultivated skillset, criminal instinct or something else,
you’re an expert in the art of getting past defenses. Add two dice for mental tests involving
infiltration of Domains and secure buildings
5. Heart of the Hive

One evening you awoke with the realisation that you were not alone, something other was there
with you, unseen but felt. Maybe it had been there all along, a hidden symbiote, but now
decided to make its presence known? It whispers to you, of the needs of its colonies and kin,
your kin too. It has guided you to construct a breeding ground, something surreal, terrifying, but
to you, beautiful. Though you don’t understand how, and could never ask anyone about it,
you’ve created something resembling a spawning pool with a nesting spire in either your haven
or some other hidden location. You can sense that the inhabitants have burrowed deeper into
the earth, and swarms of mosquitoes frequently come and go, collecting bloody sustenance.

As long as you protect the Heart, it provides you with 5 dots of herd with intense animal
resonance, as they allow only you to drink from the pool. Your patron also grants one secret or
piece of advice per story, which is centered around advancing your coterie or clan goals, at your
choice.

However, the Heart is abhorrent to others who don’t share your sensibilities, adding the 1 dot
Creepy flaw to the haven, and your connection to it bestows you with the Obvious Predator flaw.
Should the Heart be lost, you will have to spend a story atoning before getting the chance to
construct a new one.
