Teacher comes to classroom and greets the students. Then s/he starts to talk about today’s subject, sports. First, s/he asks the students if they like any sport. Then s/he opens the smart board and shows students this unit’s vocabulary as flashcards. These flashcards with photos will help the students learn various sports related words easier.
Practice (35 Minutes):
In practice part of the lesson, teacher starts to teach grammar used in the sports unit. First, s/he talks about routines and gives examples of her/his own life. Then s/he opens a video on YouTube about once, twice, three times grammar subject. After this video is over, s/he opens another short video about something we use frequently while talking about our daily routines, never, always, often etc. In the end of this video, teacher checks if the students understood the subjects by asking them a few quick questions like “How many times a day do you brush your teeth?”. Then s/he opens an internet site for a sports and daily routines listening activity. Students listen to this text once and then teacher gives them the fill the gaps activity sheet. Students listen to the text for the second time and tries fill all gaps in the activity sheet. Teacher makes them listen to the text for the third and last time but before that s/he tells them to be careful about this last listening session. And s/he shows them the full version of the text in the end so that the students can check their answers. And for a second activity, teacher opens a match the words game and students play a matching game that is made of the words they learned in the beginning of the lesson. ACTIVITY PLAN
Production (25 Minutes):
In this part of the lesson, teacher asks the students to work in pairs and tells them to write down about their friend’s daily routine by using the expressions they learned at the practice part of the lesson.
