Quick Start Guide for Students
System requirements

In order to use the Pearson English Portal, your computer must meet the following System Requirements:

For Computers: For Tablets:

● OS: Windows 7+, Mac OS 10.13+
● Browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari
(latest version)
● Processor: Intel Core™ Duo 2.0GHz or
faster
● Screen resolution: minimum 1366x768px
● Memory: 2GB or higher RAM
● Cookies: must be enabled
For Offline App (Pearson Practice English
app):
● iOS: 10.0+ & 32MB
● Android: 5.0+ & 26.5MB
● iPad iOS 11.2+ , Android OS
5.0+ or Windows 8.1, 10
● Supported browsers: Chrome, Safari (latest version)
For iPhones:
● iOS 11.2+
● Safari in latest version
For Android devices:
● Android OS 5.0+
● Chrome in latest version
Note: Some types of activities (e.g. drag & drop) may not
work correctly on mobile devices.
Registering an account
To start using the Pearson English Portal you need:
● an e-mail address and
● a student access code.
You will visualise the access code on the Intranet (Mis clases y asistencia > Código Libro > Mostrar)
* If after one working day of buying the book you can’t visualise the code, please write to Soporte Online (soporteonline@britanico.edu.pe).
Registering an account

To register an account:

1. Go to: english-dashboard.pearson.com/register
2. Choose your preferred language [A]. If you
encounter any issues, send an email to:
soporteonline@britanico.edu.pe
3. Select Adult account and click on the CREATE AN
ADULT ACCOUNT button. [B] A

4. Provide your Personal Information [A],
and your Account Information [B]. You
may also check the box allowing us to
contact you for marketing purposes [C].
Finally, click on the Verification Box [D].
Once you click on Create account [E], you
will be directed to your Dashboard.

Notes:
● For your username, please use your
email address you registered at
Británico.
● Your password must be at least
eight characters long, must
include one number or special
character, and cannot contain
your username, name or blank
spaces.
Adding your GOLD - Británico Edition
You need to add your GOLD digital products to your account to be able to fully use the Pearson English Portal.

On your Dashboard, click on either the Add New Product [A] button or add a new product link [A].

1. Enter your ACCESS CODE for MyEnglishLab [B]

This is an example:
ESSXMP-STOUP-STONE-ALOUD-RIANT-NONES (type your own access code)
and click the ADD PRODUCT [C] button.
2. Click the BACK TO DASHBOARD [D] button.
 Adding your GOLD - Británico Edition
After you add digital products, you will see 3 buckets in your
account: One final step is necessary to activate MyEnglishLab
bucket:

[A] Extra Resources: this includes audio, exam maximiser audio

and Click on the Gold B2 First for Británico [C],
complete the required information and click on Submit:
speaking tests.
[B] eBook (Reader+): It is the digital version of your
coursebook with integrated audios and videos.
[C] MEL (MyEnglishLab) contains:
1. Online Workbook: the digital version of the Exam
Maximiser.
2. Extra Practice: interactive activities and videos to prepare
students for the B2 First examination.
3. Test: interactive online B2 First tests.
4. Student’s resources: Coursebook audio, speaking test
videos and listening test.

Joining a class
The teacher is able to track your progress and provide feedback on your work after you have joined the class.

To join a teacher’s class:

1. After you enter Gold B2 First for Británico,

go to the Settings tab [A].
2. Click on the Join a Course button [B].
3. Enter the Class Code [C] you
should get from your teacher.
4. Click on the Join [D] button.

In order to have access to the tools in this guide, make sure you have created your
Pearson English Portal account. If you haven’t, follow the steps given in the guide

• Advanced students will have to do two activities

in MEL in each ADVANCED cycle.

• These marks will be part of your evaluation.

• Please, follow these guidelines in order to make

sure you complete the tasks in a proper way.

Make sure you have joined your teacher’s course. You should
visualize the Gold logo with the name of the course:

If you haven’t joined your teacher’s course, follow these steps:

Every month, your teacher will tell you which 2 activities you
must do to complete your QUIZZES mark. These activities are
taken from the “TESTS” (Extra Practice Test or Mock Test)

For example, in AD1, one of the Quizzes is EXTRA PRACTICE TEST >
READING & USE OF ENGLISH > Part 1. So, follow the route and click on
“Open”

Start doing the exercise. You’ll have 20 minutes to do the activity.

Time limit

Click on “Submit”. You’ll receive instant feedback on your performance. You
might want to try again. However, remember that your teacher will take your
first attempt mark into account for your Quiz mark.

PPE is a mobile app for students for

their self-practice. The app lets
students access audios and videos
with transcripts (online and offline).
System Requirements
The Pearson Practice English app can be used on both iPhone and Android
smartphones. To successfully run the app, please ensure your device meets
the below system requirements
