Quick Start Guide for Students
System requirements

In order to use the Pearson English Portal, your computer must meet the following System Requirements:

For Computers: For Tablets:

● OS: Windows 7+, Mac OS 10.13+ ● iPad iOS 11.2+ , Android OS 5.0+ or
Windows 8.1, 10
● Browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari (latest
version) ● Supported browsers: Chrome, Safari (latest version)
● Processor: Intel Core™ Duo 2.0GHz or faster
● Screen resolution: minimum 1366x768px For iPhones:
● Memory: 2GB or higher RAM ● iOS 11.2+
● Cookies: must be enabled ● Safari in latest version
For Android devices:
For Offline App (Pearson Practice English app): ● Android OS 5.0+
● iOS: 10.0+ & 32MB ● Chrome in latest version
● Android: 5.0+ & 26.5MB

Note: Some types of activities (e.g. drag & drop) may not work
correctly on mobile devices.
Registering an account
To start using the Pearson English Portal you need:
● an e-mail address and
● a student’s Book Access Code.
After you buy the book from us, you will visualise the Book Access Code on the Intranet (Mis Clases > Clases y Asistencias > Código Libro > Mostrar)

* If after one working day of buying the book you can’t visualise the code, please write to Soporte Online (soporteonline@britanico.edu.pe)
Registering an account
To register an account:

1. Go to: english-dashboard.pearson.com,
2. Check the preferred language is “English” [A]
3. Click on CREATE AN ACCOUNT [B]
4. Select Adult account by clicking on the CREATE AN ADULT ACCOUNT button. [C]

5. Provide your Account Information [A], and
your Personal Information [B]. Agree to the
Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy [C].
You may also check the box allowing us to contact you for marketing purposes (this is optional).

6. Finally, click on Create account [D], and then in

Get Started [E] to be directed to your
Dashboard.

Notes: C
● For your username, please use your email
address you registered at Británico.
● It is very important to complete your
full First Names and Last Names, so
your teachers can identify you in the
class register D
● Your password must have 8 or more
characters, at least one uppercase
letter, and one number.

Adding your GOLD - Británico Edition
You need to add your GOLD digital products to your account to be able to fully use the Pearson English Portal.

On your Dashboard, click on either the Add a product link [A] or Add a product + button [A].

1. Enter your BOOK ACCESS CODE [B]

This is an example: ESSXMP-STOUP-STONE-ALOUD-RIANT-NONES
(Type your own access code from your Británico Intranet – For reference, see page 3 in this tutorial)
and click the ADD PRODUCT [C] button.
2. Click the BACK TO DASHBOARD [D] button.

After you add your Access Code, you will see the GOLD Component with the 4 buckets for GOLD B2 FIRST (if not visible, click on the arrows on the right)

One final step is necessary to activate MyEnglishLab [C]:

Click on MyEnglishLab Gold B2 First for Británico [C], complete

the required information and click on Submit:

[A] Extra Resources to use in your computer: this includes audio, exam maximiser audio and speaking tests.
[B] Extra Resources to use in your mobile phone: this includes audio, exam maximiser audio and speaking tests.
[C] MyEnglishLab (MEL) contains:
1. Online Workbook: the digital version of the Exam Maximiser.
2. Extra Practice: interactive activities and videos to prepare students for the B2 First examination.
3. Test: interactive online B2 First tests.
4. Student’s resources: Coursebook audio, speaking test videos and listening test.
[D] Reader+ (eBook): It is the digital version of your coursebook with integrated audios and videos.
Joining a class
The teacher is able to track your progress and provide feedback on your work after you have joined the class.

To join a teacher’s class:

1. After you enter MyEnglishLab Gold B2 First for Británico,

go to the Settings tab [A].
2. Click on the Join a Course button [B].
3. Enter the Class Code [C] you should get
from your teacher.
4. Click on the Join [D] button.
5. Click on Don’t transfer grades [E]
