On behalf of mummy’s institute I would like to extend my great thanks to the principle for having given me guidance
and the instructors.
I thank the instructor such as MR. Matovu Tonny the head of department and MR. SSekiwu Joseph the instructor.
In addition I take this chance to thank my field supervisor who never give up on me through the training.
I sincerely thank the almighty GOD who has enabled me to successfully pass through this internship safely no matter
how many challenges I faced.
EXECUTIVE SUMMERY
Poverty that could limit me from getting basic needs like food, water, etc
Teasing from the found trainees since I was new at the workshop
I earned some money since I was doing good job during my internship
SKILLS GAINED
I got the knowledge of handling customers.
Being creative as an engineer at times of operating a vehicle.
I also gained a skill of using cramp for bonding the lining on the brake pad.
I also gained a skill of using new machines (torque wrench)
CONCLUSION
I conclude by advising other mechanics to learn more languages e.g. Swahili ease communication with different
customers.
I advise other mechanics to learn how to use different machines like OBD11 and all other scan tools to cope up with
the modern world of mechanics.

TASK
TASK:
Jerk
Rubber plug
Apply wedges on the vehicle and remove the wheel from the tyre
Wet the body of the tyre and observe where bubbles come from.
TOOLS USED
Screw driver
Procedures
Park the vehicle and apply the stoppers on each road wheels to avoid the movement of the vehicle
to cause accidents
Locate the position of the OBD11 port under the steering wheel
Using the screw driver, remove the cover on the diagnosis port turn the ignition switch to on
position
Plug the DLC into the port and see the OBD results
Get the OBD codes (DTCS) and type in Google for knowing the meaning of the codes or results
of the OBD 11
After interpreting the codes, repair the required ports to be repaired
CHALLENGES FACED DURING THIS TASK
I faced a challenge of interpreting the codes of the OBD11 which made the activity difficult
I also faced a challenge of knowing the position of the operation of the OBD11
COCLUSION
I conclude by advising other mechanics to learn the working principle of the OBD11 because it
simplifies the work of diagnosing the vehicle
PROCEDURES
I Parked the vehicle on the leveled ground and apply stoppers on each road wheel
Locate the position of the temperature sensor which is around the outlet hose pipe near the
thermostat housing
I Started the engine to see whether the indicator lamp of the temperature in the dash board is off
after the engine has started
CHALLENGES
I faced a challenge of burn from hot water from the engine because I removed the it when the
engine was hot
I also faced a challenge of rude customer who brought the vehicle for repair
FIGURE 1.6
CONCLUSION
I conclude by advising fellow mechanics to avoid working on hot engines especially when the
vehicle has just parked.
TASK
RREMOVING OF WORN BRAKE PADS
PROCEDURES
Remove your wheel.
I also faced the challenge of removing the drum from the back plate.
CONCLUSION
I conclude by advising the manager of the garage to buy more tools.
Hydrometer
Electrolyte
Funnel
PROCEDURE
I parked the vehicle on a leveled ground and apply stoppers on each road wheel
Using spanner 10mm,I removed battery cables from its terminals ie, negative 1 st and positive last
I removed the battery from its seat
I removed battery plugs and used the hydrometer to measure the quality of the electrolyte inside
the battery
I removed the non working electrolyte from the battery using the hydrometer
Using the funnel, I refilled the electrolyte in the battery and threaded the cleaned battery plugs
back
I cleaned the battery terminals to remove the corrosion and applied grease or Vaseline onto the
terminals
I installed back the battery into the vehicle and connect the cables back
I started the engine and see whether there is no delay in starting the engine
CHALLENGES FACED DURING THIS TASK
I faced a challenge of lack of equipments like gloves that could protect me from direct access to
the electrolyte
I faced a challenge of sparks from battery terminals when connecting back the sockets which
threatened me
CONCLUSION
I conclude by advising fellow mechanics to handle electrolytes with much care to avoid burns
TASK DONE
Disconnect the tube assemblies for the fuel filter base for the fuel inlet and outlet.
I faced challenge of finding the problem that was faulty nozzles which caused the delay in
starting the engine
Towel
Pliers
Scrip remover
PROCEDURES FOLLOWED
I parked the vehicle on a level ground
I cleaned the bore of the master cylinder and inspected that there was no cracks within it
Repeat the same procedures to assemble the parts and do road testing to find out whether the
problem is solved
CHALLENGES FACED
I faced a challenge in bleeding the master cylinder which was not easy for me to push the sheets.
Always use safety stands and wheel chocks to prevent accidental car movement.
CONCLUSION
I conclude by advising my fellow students to be careful when removing and installing stator motors for customers.
TASK: CHANGING BLOWN FUSE, RELAYS AND THE COMBINATION SWITCH
TOOLS USED
Screw driver and star
Spanners (10,12)
PROCEDURES FOLLOWED
Park the vehicle on a leveled place
Disconnect the battery terminals negative first and start working
Unplug the sockets from the relay and combination switch
Remove the blown fuse and replace it with a new one for proper functioning
Replace the faulty combination switch and replace it with a new one
Reconnect the battery cables on the terminals to see whether the problem is solved
If the headlamps are giving out light and the combination switch Is working ten the problem is solved.
CONCLUSION
I conclude by calling upon other mechanics to join this project because it is profitable
I also recommend by advising the mechanics to be careful when testing the polarity of
TASK
CHALLENGES
I faced a challenge enough stands and wedges.
CONCLUSION
I conclude by advising to my fellow workmates to be patient in every situation though the task was very tiresome for me I
remained focused on my internship
