Sample Answer to PART 1
1. Have you ever met any famous people?
No, I’ve never met a celebrity in my life. I could have met Hua Chenyu last year. I bought a ticket
for his concert, but later, the address of his concert changed, so I had to cancel the ticket.

2. If you had a chance, which famous person would you like to meet?
I would like to meet Lionel Messi, the Argentinean football player. Everybody knows him because
he is one of the best football players in the world. Messi has an amazing career ahead
7 of him.
Many football experts compare Messi to the legendary Pele and Maradona. In many football
matches he proved to people he is really the best. His skills on the ball, ability to get past
defenders and his goal-scoring are spectacular.

3. Do you want to become famous in the future?

Well, though I’ve never thought about it, I’m pretty sure that being famous would never be one of
my life goals. I appreciate all the efforts that the celebrities are making every single day, no matter
which field they’re working on. However, I find that I don’t belong to that world, I mean, you
never know what’s going on when the curtains close. So yeah, I don’t think I want to become a

public figure, to be honest.

Sample Answer to PART 2

A person who, in my opinion, looks very open is my best friend Wang Xing in college. She
is a student majoring in Computer Science, which is one of the most well-received majors
in our university.
I have known her since I moved into college while I was a freshman and became one of
her roommates. I actually didn’t talk to her quite often at the very beginning as our
majors were different. You know, I was studying History and she was delving into the
science field. But, it was during dinner time that we gradually became familiar with each
other.
Well, the reason why I thought she was very open was that she was a person who didn’t
conceal her ideas and was always willing to do me a favor when I had some questions in
my head. You know, she kept me informed of what she was thinking about and dared to
give any suggestions to me, which made me think she was truly a friend.
I felt so honored to have a friend like her, and I hope I could become a person with the
same merit. 仅供外教网1对1用户使用+6912

Unit 1 People

Sample Answer to PART 3

1. How do the people around you often express their feelings or emotions?
Well, different people have their own preferred ways of expressing their feelings. Many of my
friends like to express their feelings through their Instagram or Sina Weibo. But if some of my
friends have strong feelings to express, such as frustrations or shock towards major changes, they
tend to express them by phone or video calls.

2. What are some differences between males and females when expressing their
feelings /emotions?
I think men are often reluctant to disclose their intimate feelings. Women, on the other hand,
express emotions more frequently than men. I think this phenomenon stems from society's
expectations for femininity and masculinity.

3. Who do you think talk more? Children or grown-ups?

I think in general, kids talk more than adults. Children always say what they want to say and they
hardly think before they speak. In contrast, adults tend to think a lot before speaking and take
into account the listener’s feelings. So, I think children talk more than adults.
