Question 1. Are your friends mostly your age or different ages?

Hầu hết bạn bè của tôi đều ở cùng độ tuổi với tôi (the same age as me) vì chúng tôi
quen biết nhau (got to know) trường học hoặc đại học. Tôi cũng một hoặc một vài người
bạn lớn hơn hoặc trẻ hơn(older and younger friends) thông qua mạng xã hội (social
network)
 Most of my friends are the same as me/ to me since we got to know each other
for ages (thành ngữ: nhiều năm rồi). I also got some buddies, old and younger
ones through social network.

Question 2. In which ways are your friends important to you?

I suppose that friendship is crucially important to everyone, I am no exception. (tôi thì
không có ngoại lệ). We need friends to share and to help in this life. I got some good
buddies who are always there for me, especially when I am in ups and downs.

Question 3. What would you like to do when you a re with your best friend
together?
We often do some similar things like having a gossip or watching the box and laughing
hysterically. For me, meeting up friends literally chill out.

Who: After a bit of thought, I want to tell you about a person who has a
very attractive and eye-catching look. He is Son Tung MTP. Currently
he is a prominent singer in Vietnam, and his music is all the rage. To
tell you the truth that I am a diehard fan of him. Furthermore,
whenever he becomes an endorser to any products, they are gonna
sell like a hot cake.
Where + Where: I got to know him a couple of years ago, when his first song hit the
world by storm, I crazily love him and all his products.
How: Back to the question a handsome person and Son Tung springs to my
mind immediately. He is very handsome actually, with a pointed
face, radiant smile and a very natural complexion. He is not well-
built but has a slim body. His look is actually impressive and I guess
many fan girls will love him at the first sight. I am no exception hihi.
For me, Son Tung is also acclaimed for (nổi tiếng về) one of the
most fashionable singers around Vietnam.
Why: I am not sure about the reasons why I am talking about him because
I have seen many outstanding persons about physical appearance
but maybe the beauty of this singer really makes me unforgettable.
The most impressive thing is the sweet smile he owns

Question 1. What types of people who are successful in the society where you live?
Có nhiều cách để mô tả sự thành công của một người, tuy nhiên, ở Việt Nam, nếu bạn
đạt được những thứ sau, bạn sẽ được xem là người thành công và nhận được nhiều sự
ngưỡng mộ và kính trọng từ người khác. Bạn là một người thành công về vật chất. Ví dụ
bạn sinh ra đã giàu có, bạn có nhà to, có xe hơi xịn. Bạn là một người thành công về con
đường học thuật. Bạn đạt được rất bằng cấp, thạc sĩ, tiến sĩ, bạn cũng có nhiều vị trí cao
trong xã hội Việt Nam, và từ đó bạn có thể kiếm tiền nhiều và đạt được tiếng tăm.
 There are a lot of gray areas in defining success of a person, nevertheless,
in Viet Nam, if you have one of the followings, you will be viewed as a successful
person and earn respect from others. First, you are wealthy. Either you are born
with a silver spoon in your mouth or work your way up the ladder, if you have
real-estate and fancy rides, then you are successful. Second, you are academically
adept. If you have esteemed degrees, Master’s or PhD, you are set for great
positions in the Vietnamese society, which could earn you a fortune or
reputation.

Question 2. Are smart people selfish?

Tôi nghĩ là nên. Các thành phố nên tập trung xây dựng các toà nhà cao tầng vì tình trạng
thiếu đất càng ngày càng trở nên nghiêm trọng. Đối mặt với tình trạng đó, các toà nhà
cao tầng sẽ cung cấp đủ chổ ở cho dân cư trong thành thị. Ngoài ra, khuyến khích xây
dựng các toà nhà cao tầng thay vì toà nhà truyền thống sẽ giúp tiết kiệm được rất nhiều
đất công cộng, mở đường cho các toà nhà công cộng như bệnh viện, trường học, công
ty, nhà máy mọc lên để phục vụ cho các cuộc sống người dân.
 I do not believe that intelligence is a virtue that goes hand in hand with
selfishness. Though it is true that smart people tend to be more secretive and
stern, they are also known to be more generous and kind. For instance, many
scientists, after inventing or discovering ground-breaking results, have publicly
shared them with the world, free of charge. As I recall, when Volvo invented the
“three-point seat belt”, they allow other car manufacturers to use their design to
save more lives instead of making money from it.

NƠI SINH: He was born in a poor countryside in ..., growing up with so many ups and
downs in his life, especially unhappy childhood. He embarked on his
career at the age of 20 when he began to realize his own passion in
science / politics / law / mathematics / music/literature.
KHẢ NĂNG: He is a versatile person. He is known as an excellent leader and be in
charge of the field of ..............., he is also the one who can cope with bad
or difficult situations intelligently/ wisely.
What struck me was that he is a talented person in both music and
painting. He can play his own songs by guitar in a great way. And I'm sure
you will love at first sight with the portraits, the scenery that he painted.
TÍNH CÁCH: He is hardworking (diligent), patient and understanding; He also has a
sense of humor and seems to get along with everyone. And more
importantly, he has a huge responsibility for everything he does, either
small or big.

1. Người nổi tiếng – Steve Jobs
There have been people who have been successful in the eyes of others but, the one
person who I really admire is Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple company. you know,
Apple is a prominent technology in the world, based in the United states and now, it’s
products become the household name such as iphone, smartwaches or tablets. (ôn lại

He was born in a poor countryside in American, growing up with so many ups and
downs in his life, espectially unhappy childhood. He embarked on his career at the age
of 25 when he began to realize his own passion in computer.

He is a versatile person. He is known as an outstanding leader and be incharge of the

field of computer and technology, he is a genius actually, and he is aslo the one who can
cope with bad or difficult situations wisely

Several years ago, When I was a sophomore in the university, after the time of working
against the clock, I went online to find something to relax. I came across his speech for
students at Stanford University, and I actually admire him more from that.

He is the ideal/good role model for success that anyone wishes, and I am no
exception.. There are times when I am down,/ I get down in the dump I often listen to
him over and over again and recharge the battery to keep my mind positive and try
more for work and dream.

There are some leaders who are great because of their charisma while others are
famous for their intelligence. Steve Jobs is a perfect example for both.

2. Người nổi tiếng – Ho Chi Minh

Today, I’m going to talk about Ho Chi Minh who is well-known in my country. He was the
first President of Vietnam who led the whole nation to independence.

As a citizen of Vietnam, it is normal for everybody to know him because children are
educated about him since starting to go to school. Since I knew Ho Chi Minh, I have seen
a lot of films and read a lot of books about him. He is always my greatest idol to study
and follow.

The reason why he is well-known in my country is that Ho Chi Minh devoted his life to
our nation. If he had not been born in Vietnam, our country could have been invaded by
other countries. I admire him for a number of reasons. Firstly, President Ho was a very
determined man. He showed his determination at a very young age when he decided to
travel to France to obtain knowledge, hoping to find a way to rescue the nation. During
his journey, he did various jobs to survive despite many difficulties. Being inspired by
him, I have been working very hard to fulfill my dream until I can achieve it. Secondly, I
knew that Uncle Ho was very good at foreign languages, he could speak fluently fifteen
languages. In fact, I have been studying English for ages but I haven't been satisfied with
my English. I think this is a good opportunity to learn his experiences to improve my
English level.

very young age. Furthermore, I love how Albert Einstein lived and worked with passion
and enthusiasm all his life, which is a shining example for me to follow. Albert was
hunted by the Nazi for most of his adulthood, yet he never abandoned his love for
science and kept working even when he was running to protect his life. In other words,
he inspired me to pursue my goals and dreams with all I got despite any upcoming
difficulties.
