“Gaza's hospitals report growing threats from Israeli airstrikes'”

A. News Tidbits
Hospitals in Gaza are now underthreat by Israeli airstrikes. Including that these hospitals
are also in need of fuel, suffering from overcrowding, and that sanitation conditions have
continued to worsen. They have also been severely damaged, and 18 out of 35 hospitals are no
longer operational according to Health officials in the Gaza strip, including major hospitals such
as Al-Shifa and the Indonesian hospital.

B. Analysis
This isn’t Israels first time targeting innocent civilians in the Gaza strip, despite claiming
that they are out to look for Hamas members and kidnapped Israelis. Unfortunately, by targetting
hospitals in Gaza as well as neighbourhoods where civilians live and eat peacefully, Israel is
essentially forcing them out of their home and denying basic human commodities to dehumanize
the Palestianians. With no access to needs such as water, electricity and basically health care,
they are now forced to move to places where they require them the most. With constant
bombardments, it has now become intensified with the patients struggling to survive from their
injuries due to the lack of fuel. This has also affected ambulances that are transporting
Palestinians from point A to point B, but even those are targetted.

C. Policy Recommendations
Israel has time and time again continued to justify their war crimes by targetting hospitals
and neighbourhoods despite that many have denied that Hamas works and function under their
buildings. They have continued to violate international and humanitarian laws despite them
committing to ‘uphold’ those laws; now that Hospitals in Gaza have turned into ruin,
Palestinians have become displaced once again and even those who seek shelter in them have
reportedly been killed up to the thousands. "You have to run generators. You also need to have a
light. You can't just do surgeries with the flash flashlight of your mobile phone.". A policy
recommendation is to immediately ceasefire all of Israels military, and to condemn Israel, United
States, the United Kingdom, and those who continue to fund and support what Israel is doing by
justifying their genocide and ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people. If they truly are only
going for Hamas and to save their hostages, there is no need to bomb hospitals and homes of
civilians who are simply trying to exist as human beings.
