The document discusses why the author would prefer to live in Sparta over Athens. In Sparta, women had more freedom and could inherit property, unlike in Athens. Spartan women were responsible for managing estates and encouraged to participate in sports. Spartan boys at age seven would leave home for military barracks to train during the day and sleep on hard benches at night, teaching responsibility. The author wants to live in Sparta to become strong like their women and men through the rigorous lifestyle and teachings of responsibility.

I would rather live in Sparta because in Sparta women have
considerable freedom unlike the Athens the women did not have much freedom. The women in Sparta are responsible for managing the family estates. Spartan women could even inherit property, and that was a rare right. But women who live in Athens cannot inherit any property. In spartan, girls were encouraged to be fit and strong to run, wrestle, and played sports. As for the men at age seven the boys would leave home and move into military barracks. They would march and train during the day for school then sleep on hard benches at night. Also, unlike Athens the Spartans encourage stealthies and if the men would get caught while trying to steal food then they will be beat not for stealing the food but getting caught for stealing. I want to live in Sparta because they teach responsibilities and can make women and men strong enough for any battle.
