Nature of People: - failure to assess leads to conflict and miscommunication


 Law of individual differences- respecting everyone’s different attitudes and personalities
 Own perception- perspective on things and people
 Desire for involvement- the need to socialize and associate yourself in a group
 Value- worth
 Motivated behavior

 Organization begins with the performance of the people


 Motivation- futuristic help- VISION
 Goal- what you want to achieve
 Inspiration- a person, thing or situation that is used as a guide to achieve a goal

Basic Motivation Model


1. Needs and drives
2. Tension (action plans)- goal
3. Effort- ability
4. Performance- evaluation
5. Reward-output
a) Needs satisfaction- if the reward is not satisfying

 Achievement motivation
 Affiliation motivation
 Power motivation- source of success since birth

Culture
1. Amor propio- self esteem and confidence
2. Hiya
3. Acceptance- accepting your own limitation
4. Utang na loob- debt of gratitude
5. Pakikisama
6. Interpersonal relationship- smooth and good coordination

Satisfaction
1- Goal
2- Result of a particular goal or objective
3- Behavior- dependent upon the satisfaction of a person (human, output, etc.)

Hierarchy of Needs
1- Self actualization- morality
2- Self-esteem- achievement, confidence, respect
3- Belongingness- friendship, family, sexual intimacy
4- Safety- employment, security of body, family, property
5- Physiological- breathing, food, water, shelter, sex, money, sleep

 A satisfied need is no longer a motivator


ERG Theory
1. Existence needs

2. Relatedness needs
a) Social needs from friends
b) If not satisfied due to frustration- go back to existence
3. Growth needs
a) Successful people achieve these needs
b) Assessment is nangyayari na sa sarili
c) Kilala na yung sarili with the help of community
d) No line between growth and existence
e) Self-actualization
