BULK TRASH- On Friday, 11/17, Waste Pro did not pick up bulk trash in
the Hastings, Greenbrier, and Southampton sections. I sent a report to the
Waste Pro Manager; these items will be picked up today.

-Bulk trash pickup is on Fridays. Please do not put out mattresses,

furniture, appliances etc. until Thursday. Normally, if significant bulk items
are missed by Waste Pro on Friday, Waste Pro will send a truck on
Saturday to catch up. Friday bulk trash pickups begin very early in the
morning, so Thursday is the day to put out bulk items.

-There is a limit on bulk trash. Three large pieces, or two cubic yards of
bulk trash may be put out for pickup each week. Larger junk piles require
special pickup, at additional charge.

-Large pieces of plate and mirror glass are not picked up as part of
bulk trash pickup service. Glass should be busted up and put into thick
plastic bags or sturdy, taped boxes, or the dumpster. Very large pieces of
glass will require special pickup, at additional charge.

-Demolition and construction debris is not picked up as part of bulk

trash pickup service and should not be placed in dumpsters. This
includes kitchen/bathroom cabinets, countertops, wood flooring and
ceramic tile. Responsible unit owners must make arrangements for
disposal of this material, either by taking this material to the dump, or by
calling Waste Pro for a special pickup. There is an additional charge for
special pickup.

-Carpet and padding must be cut to four foot squares, rolled and tied.
If the trash workers can’t pick up a piece of carpet because it is too heavy,
they will leave it.
PBC BUILDING DEPARTMENT MEETING- Next month, the Palm Beach
County Division of Planning, Zoning, and Buildings will give a presentation
to CV unit owners. This presentation will happen on 12/15, 11:00 AM, at
the Century Village Clubhouse. Representatives from PBC Divisions of
Code Enforcement, Buildings, and Contractor Certification will address the
growing problem of unauthorized and unpermitted construction and
demolition at Century Village associations. All CV unit owners are strongly
encouraged to attend this meeting. Unit owners who live in three and
four story buildings should especially consider attending, because
the presentation will include information about new regulations that
were enacted in the past year. This presentation was very well attended
last year, and PBC Officials stayed late to answer individual questions.

STORM DRAIN REPAIR- Today, Anchor Marine will begin repair of an

underground storm drain pipe at Falkirk/Kent Streets, near the North Canal.

EMERGENCY GENERATORS- On 11/10, The Generator People

performed scheduled maintenance of the emergency generators at the
Okeechobee Boulevard Guardhouse and the UCO Office. This
maintenance included check of oil and coolant levels, inspection of the air
cleaning filters, and fifteen minute no-load test run of the generator.
Propane fuel supply was confirmed at both generators, approximately 350
gallons and 700 gallons. All three of UCO’s emergency generators (2
guardhouses, UCO Office) are under annual maintenance contracts, and
are serviced every other month.

LANDSCAPING- On 11/3, Seacrest Services performed deep root

fertilization and pest control for 46 royal palm trees that are owned by UCO,
with specific treatment for royal palm weevils. This is a quarterly treatment.
