MAGSAYSAY INTEGRATED SCHOOL
Magsaysay, Malaybalay City

BASIC EDUCATION-LEARNING CONTINUITY PLAN

RATIONALE:
Magsaysay Integrated School is a newly established integrated school in the Division of Malaybalay City. It is located at Magsaysay Malaybalay
City, used to be a Sitio named Dologon which was part of Barangay Casisang. Most of the people living in this sitio are natives. The source of living was farming. In 1957, people
from different places began to settle in this place, thus increasing the population. From Sitio Dologon, the name was then replaced to Barangay Magsaysay in honor of the late
President Ramon Magsaysay. The School which was established in 1958 was name after the barangay thus it was first called Magsaysay Elementary School.
Magsaysay Elementary School’s enrolment was increasing, thus, by 2017, the school was transformed into an integrated school catering now both elementary and
secondary learners. MIS can be reached through motorcycle, jeepney or any private vehicle, situated at Purok 1, Magsaysay Malaybalay City and 3.5 kilometers away from the
national highway. This school year MIS caters Kindergarten to grade 10 learners with 28 teachers, 1 Administrative Officer, 1 ALS teacher and a School principal. These
personnel were all fully vaccinated. The Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan (BE-LCP) responds to the directive of the Secretary and provides guidance to the Department
of Education on how to deliver education in this time of crisis. With the outbreak of the Corona Virus-19, the city government of Malaybalay declared the General Community
Quarantine following guidelines on social distancing and other safety measures to avoid community transmission of the virus, which also prompted the schools to develop their
initiatives in addressing the problem. With this new normal, Magsaysay Integrated School, as an Integrated Institution in the Division of Malaybalay, catering both elementary and
secondary learners specifically Kinder to grade 10, designed a learning continuity plan that aims to ensure strong advocacy, professional culture, continuous improvement of
teachers, and results-oriented team that address and tailor fit the knowledge, level of skills and abilities of the 740 learners enrolled and their capability with the new normal
learning modality.
Furthermore, the school, regardless of students’ level of accessibility on internet connectivity and other medium will cater all students in any means and ways of distance
learning and other alternative modes of learning. A learning continuity plan seeks to ensure that student’s learning progresses even amidst disasters. Covid-19 has brought a lot of
changes to our country. Everybody was caught unprepared. Magsaysay Integrated School crafted a Learning Continuity Plan that would help the school manage the processes,
procedures, decisions and activities in ensuring a continuous service amidst this pandemic. This plan overcomes obstacles created by the disasters through innovative means of
teaching and learning, keeping students on track with their education.
It also provides opportunities of continuous improvement of teaching expertise for the 30 teachers in MIS, who will be trained and equipped with skills necessary for
developing new normal instructional learning resources and virtual environment before its implementation. Consultation, consensus and stakeholders’ involvement on the
preparation of the schools’ infrastructures, the policies on distance learning, updates and induction of parents on the new normal learning set-up, and other alternative delivery
modes will be carried out by the school to secure that all activities are aligned with the standards set before by the department of education without compromising quality education
and safety of the learners. Finally, sustainable monitoring, evaluation, plans for adjustment and progress reports will be upheld for future adjustment to this new normal scenario of
the school’s academic community.

OBJECTIVES:

This Learning Continuity Plan aims to:

1. Ensure the continuity of classes;

2. Assess, adapt and implement best suited learning modality/modalities for the school as per RA 7779;
3. Capacitate teachers on the development of alternative learning modalities, learning resources, and virtual learning
environment;
4. Design measures that would safeguard the health of pupils, teachers and staffs in consonance with the minimum health
requirements set by the Department of Health.
