Writing about your experiences helps you process them. It enables you to learn to break
down complex experiences into relevant, useful bits of information that make sense to you. In this
way, it helps you see opportunities that may not have been clear at first glance.
By writing down what has happened to you, you are able to track what you have done and
where you have gone wrong in life to prevent you from repeating the mistake. The best thing about
journal writing is that it makes you reflect on what you have done. Reflection is the key to a better
future. It allows you to see how you have changed over time. You read your past entry and evaluate
your actions. This helps to make you a better person.

Questions 25 – 34
Answer the questions below. Choose no more than five words and/or number from the text for
each answer. For each question, write your answer in the space provided.
Are you trying to make lifestyle changes in your life? You want to eat better, do more
physical exercise and study harder but you have not seen any progress? Making a llifestyle change
is a challenge. To be successful you need to be determined.
Be realistic. Make a plan that is reasonable and stick to it. Making a plan that is too
demanding is not being realistic. Be specific. How often do you plan to exercise in a week? Start
small. When planning ask yourself if you are able to do it. Small changes in life are more
achievable. Put up your plan on a board that you can see at all time of the day.
Change one behaviour at a time. To want to change too many things at any one time is
likely to meet with failures. When you try to change too many things at the same time, you are
likely to give up because bad habits take time to change. Start with one aspect of your life and
slowly work to change others. When you see success in one area, you are more inspired to change
the other aspects.
Always ask for support. Let your friends and family members know about your plans.
Having support from family members and friends will help you to achieve success. They can help
to remind you not to stray from your plan.

You are going to read an article about first aid kits.

A basic first aid kit should contain at least the following items: triangular bandages, crepe
bandages, non-adhesive dressings, disposable gloves and others. Other equipment can also be
included like medium or large combine dressing pads, adhesive dressing strips, medium gauze
dressing and tubes of saline solution. 39
Keep the first aid kit in a dry, cool location. Make sure the first aid kit is easily accessible
and that everyone in the family knows where it is. 40 Check regularly and replace when
necessary. If an item is used from the first aid kit, promptly replace it. If you keep medicines for
yourself or your family, such as paracetamol and aspirin for pain relief, they should be kept secure
and out of reach of children.
