1. 215 Paper I –  Students understand the Meaning of Sociology and
Principles of Sociology relationship of sociology with other sciences.
 To introduces the students to the emergence of Sociology as
a systematic and scientific field of study.
 Students can understand basic concepts in sociology.
 To understand relationship between individual and society.
 Students can understand the meaning, forms and theories
of social stratification.
 Student can develop basic understanding of social change
and can apply theories of social change.

2. 216 Paper II –  The students are able to demonstrate the ability to apply the
Indian Society theoretical concepts learned to all kinds of societies whether
simple or complex.
 Student can explore the cultural patterns and ethnic diversity
in Indian society.
 Students can understand the significance of field view of
Indian Society.
 To facilitate learning about basic Institution of Indian society-
family, marriage, religion, caste and class.
 Comprehensive understanding of structure and composition
of Indian Society - weaker sections, women & minorities and
population profile.
 Students can Develop idea of process of social change and
able to differentiate between westernization and
urbanization.

B.A. Part-2nd (SOCIOLOGY)


1. 217 Paper I –  To introduce the students to a sociological ways of thinking.
Social Thinkers They learn how to apply sociological concepts to the
everyday life.
 To give the students a flavour of how over a period of time
thinkers have conceptualized various aspects of society.
 They develop reflective thinking skills of both self and
society.
 To teach the students how to read the original works by the
various thinkers.
 The students learn critical thinking skills. They learn how to
read, interpret and critique original works of various
thinkers.
 The students are introduced to sociological theories.
 The student can understand theories of Durkheim, Max
Weber and Karl Marx about suicide ,religion ,class ,struggle
and division of Labour.
2. 218 Paper II –  They are also for the first time exposed to the
Social Anthropology interdisciplinary nature of the social sciences like social
anthropology, history and psychology.
 To define and demonstrate social anthropology its nature
and scope.
 They learn how these relate to each other while maintain
their disciplinary boundaries.
 Student learn about meaning of culture and its theories.
 Student understand about religion- Belief and practices And
relation of magic to religion.
 The students will understand primitive economic system and
primitive political system- Their laws and customs.
 Students will know problems of drive in India and tribes in
Rajasthan- Beel, Meena , Saharia.

B.A. Part-3rd (SOCIOLOGY)


1. 219 Paper I –  The students learn about the basics of doing field work and
Survey Methods in use it for doing field work based projects. They also learn to
Social Investigations write project reports.
 A student will study about scientific Method its meaning and
importance.
 Student will know natural sciences and social sciences and
their relationship.
 A student can conduct social research. Know the meaning of
hypothesis and know how to collect data.
 Student will know tools and techniques for data collection.
And methods of data collection.
 Student will understand sampling and it types. Method of
sample selection and its limitation.
 Students will able to. Present data in tabular form and also
able to calculate mean, median and mode.

2. 220 Paper II:  Student will develop concept about social problems and
Social Problems in social disorganization and their relation with each other.
Contemporary India  Student will able to discuss structural problems in
contemporary India.
 Student will be able to understand the structural problem in
contemporary India and problems of deprived social
categories like. Schedule casts and schedule tribes.
 Student will understand. Familial problems- Like dowry
divorce, child marriage and problems of elderly.
 Student will learn. This organizational problems in
contemporary India. Example, crime, juvenile delinquency,
corruption ,drug addiction and terrorism.
 A student will be able to discuss development problems in
contemporary India about poverty, unemployment illiteracy.
Problem of slums. And environmental pollution.
