Significance:
- Students will analyze real-life scenarios and determine whether they
belong to social sciences, natural sciences, or humanities.
Instructions:
1) Divide students into small groups.
2) Distribute case study scenarios to each group and provide them with
worksheets to categorize the scenarios.
B. Activity/Strategy 3) Each group will present their analysis and justify their categorization.
4) The class will engage in a discussion to assess the accuracy of the
categorizations.
Rubric:
- Correct categorization of scenarios: 5 pts
- Clear justification for categorizations: 5 pts
Assessment Questions:
1) Explain why the scenario about climate change belongs to the
natural sciences category.
2) How did the group determine that the scenario about analyzing a
poem falls under humanities?
3) Provide an example of a scenario that could belong to both social
sciences and humanities.
Activity 2 - The case studies provided students with real-life scenarios
and challenged them to analyze the disciplines to which they belong.
C. Analysis Through cooperative learning, students actively engaged in
categorizing the scenarios and justifying their decisions, strengthening
their understanding of the distinctions between the disciplines.
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to distinguish between
social sciences, natural sciences, and humanities. They will understand
the unique characteristics, methodologies, and areas of study in each
