preserving unchanging values in a changing world; also how
to use the features of full-length play, tense consistency,
modals, active and passive constructions plus direct and
indirect speech to enable him/her competently performs in a
full-length play.
B. Performance The learner competently performs in a full-length play through
Standards applying effective verbal and non-verbal strategies and ICT
resources based on the following criteria: Focus, Voice,
Delivery and Dramatic Conventions.

MOTIVATION:

To kickstart our discussion, let us play a little


game. For sure, most or all of you are
familiar with the game of 4 pics, 1 word.

Okay, so let us take a look at the answers:

These issues, as what you have mentioned


are some of the critical issues that our
society is facing today. As members of the
society, we are all affected by such issues.

We have already learned from previous


lessons the importance and methods on how
to analyze information, right? -yes, ma’am
Our topic for today is about reacting to such
issues and to lay value judgement to such
issues, and in order to do so we must also
analyze the information for us to be more
knowledgeable about the different critical
issues that is going on throughout the world.

Will someone give more examples of critical


issues? So that we can have more idea (Students give varied answers)
before we dive into our discussion.

ABSTRACTION
Alright! So those are some of the critical
issues that we are going to lay value
judgement today.
But in your own words, what is value
judgement and how do we lay value value judgement is a way of
judgement? judging things to identify
whether it is righteous or not.

In your ESP subject, natutunan ninyo kung

us to understand the process of laying value
judgement, let us define the words
Descriptive and Normative Statements.

Descriptive-describes the situation.

Normative-a claim of what something


should be.

From the given example we have earlier,


which do you think is the Descriptive
Sentence and which is the Normative
Sentence?

But before we proceed to our next set of
activities, here are some few reminders and
tips to consider before making a value
judgement:

1. Think and analyze the situation before


giving your perceptual understanding.

2. Give your value judgement without bias.

3. Always put yourself on the situation that


are in and speak your side as if like you are
one of the persons involved in the issue.

4. Reflect!

5. Speak with a concerned heart to avoid


negative criticisms.

come up with the value judgement. It should
be submitted on the next meeting.
