CONDITIONAL SENTENCES.

ALL TYPES
Unless = if not provided that = if
Type 0
→ for general truths, scientific facts
Form: if + Simple Present, Simple Present
Example: If it rains, the grass gets wet.

Type 1
→ possible and also very likely situations. It refers to the present or the future.
Form: if + Simple Present, will + Infinitive Also with Modal verbs (can, must, may) and the Imperative
Examples: If I find her address, I’ll send her an invitation. If I find her address, I can send her an invitation
If you find her address, send her an invitation!

Type 2
→ hypothetical, imaginary situations. It refers to the present or the future.
Form: if + Simple Past, would + Infinitive Also with Modal verbs (could, should, might)
Examples: If I found her address, I would send her an invitation If I found her address, I could send her an invitation
If I were you, I wouldn’t do that

Type 3
→ impossible situations. It refers to the past so we can’t change the situation.
Form: if + Past Perfect , would + have + Past Participle Also with Modal verbs (could, should, might)
Examples: If I had found her address, I would have sent her an invitation. If I had found her address, I might have sent her
an invitation
