I. Objectives:
 Students will understand the importance of proper care for the muscular and
skeletal systems.
 Students will develop habits that promote the health of the muscular and
skeletal systems.

II. Subject Matter:

Topic: Discuss proper care of muscular and skeletal system
References: (S6MT-Id-f-2) Science Beyond Borders Teacher’s Manual
Materials: Pictures, laptop, projector video presentation, speaker

III. Procedures:

A. Elicitation:
1. Review basic facts about the muscular and skeletal systems.

PARTS MEANING

Skeletal system is body support, facilitation of

Skeletal system movement, protection of internal organs, storage of
minerals and fat, and blood cell formation.

The muscular system is an organ system consisting of

Muscular skeletal, smooth, and cardiac muscle. It permits
system movement of the body, maintains posture, and circulates
blood throughout the body.

Musculoskeletal system ‘s primary functions include

supporting the body, allowing motion, and protecting vital
organs.
Musculoskeletal
The musculoskeletal system is made up of the body’s

Tendons is a tough, flexible band made of fibrous

Tendons connective tissue, and functions to connect muscle to
bone.

Joints Joints are the bone articulations allowing movements.

Ligaments is a dense, white band of fibrous elastic

Ligaments tissue. Ligaments connect the ends of bones together in
order to form a joint.

2. Motivation: Let's have a short brainstorming session about the parts and
their meanings in the muscular and skeletal systems

 Give examples of locations where tendons, joints, and ligaments

can be found.
 What should we do to take care of our musculoskeletal system?

B. Engagement: Show models or diagrams of the proper ways to take care of

muscular and skeletal systems.

Materials:
Printed pictures
Marker
Setting of Standard for watching video lesson: Focus on
the video content, listen actively, and avoid side
conversations. Have a notebook and pen handy to jot
down important points, questions, or thoughts.

C. Explanation: Let us find out what are the proper ways to take care of muscular
and skeletal system.

Guide Questions:
 What are the main functions of the muscular and skeletal system?
 How do muscles and bones work together for movement and
support?
 What is the proper care of muscular and skeletal muscles?
Setting of Standard for group activity: Active participation/cooperation

D. Exploration: Group activity:

1. Break students into 5 groups.
2.Each group should create 3-5 minutes acting on how to proper care the
muscular and skeletal system.

E. Elaboration: Think carefully about following pictures. Are they proper way
to take care of our muscular and skeletal system or not?
Stand to the Proper Care side if its proper and stand to the
Not side if it’s not.
