1. Audience
The writer used informal language and direct. The writer act like he was talking to
her really close friend since he called the diary as buddy.
2. Context
The writer tells how he felt so miserable in life since he was bullied in school and
how much he wanted to escape from it. He also thought that telling his parents
about the incident would be useless since his father would not understand.
3. Purpose
The writer asked a lot of “why” questions in his diary to make the audience think,
understand his point of view and sympathize with how he feels.
4. Meaning
The writer used a lot of figurative languages in his diary. For instance, “Why is the
world filled with idiots? Everywhere I go, I’m surrounded by them, like I’m
swimming in an ocean of stupidity.”. He used figurative languages to help the
audience better understand what they are trying to describe.

1. Audience
The writer used semi-formal language like she talks to a normal friend. She did not
use informal language because it was the year 1943 hence the language commonly
used back then was semi-formal. She named her diary as kitty.

2. Context
The writer tells the situation of one day in her life back then when there was a war
at her place.

3. Purpose
She described all of the situations very clearly so the audience can easily imagine
in what situation she lived before.

4. Meaning
The writer used figurative languages to give audiences help in better
understanding of the situation and how she felt. As example, “The planes dived
and climbed, the air was abuzz with the drone of engines.”. This sentence
considered as figurative language because a plane cannot dive nor climb.

The writer used informal languages which determined that the target audiences are
peers and readers around their age which are the young adults.
2. Context
The writer shared with the audiences some of the things she and her friend did
while spending their summer.
3. Purpose
The writer listed out the things one by one by a title and explanations for each
activity so the audiences could have a clearer view on what they did and how the
activity was conducted.
4. Meaning
The writer used a lot of literal languages to ensure the audience understand what
they are trying to say without having to imagine things in-depth.

1. Audience
The writer used semi-formal language since her target audiences are everyone
especially teenagers and young adults since teenagers and young adults are tend to
like fashion more because of their age. Also, she used some slangs which means
she thought that more teenagers and young adult would read it since they are the
only one who understand those slangs.
2. Context
The writer discussing on clothes that are trending that she did not regret not
buying and she wants to influence audience to just use the clothes they already had
rather than buying something new.
3. Purpose
The writer listed specific names of each item and some of them the writer even
stated the brand for it so the audience can easily know which and what kind of
products she was talking about.
4. Meaning
The writer used literal languages since she wanted to ensure the audiences
understand and have a clearer view on which kind of products she was explaining
and why audiences should not buy the products in her point of view.
