I. PROCEDURAL INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1: Form a group of 3 students.
Step 3: Register your Group and Topic by Sunday, April 24, 2022 using Google Classroom
Registration process is as follows:
Write the following information in the same order;

✓ Seat No. & Name of Member No. 02
✓ Seat No. & Name of Member No. 03
✓ Group Leader Name:
✓ Topic No.
Step 4: Submit Final Report & Project Model via email by Sunday, July 17, 2022 as per
following:
The Final Report must be submitted in soft form in MS Word format along with all
supplementary material (Revit Project Files, Families used in Modeling, Plugins,
Snapshots, Video Files, Primavera Project Schedules, Navisworks Project File,
Computer/Web Generated Analysis Reports) via email to msaqibm@cloud.neduet.edu.pk
and titled as: “BIM-XX_Final_Report” with email subject heading: “CE-426/CN-429
Spring 2022 BIM-XX Final Report” (Note: XX above would be replaced by your
Group Number). Any one member from a group can make an email submission of report,
with cc to other group member.
The Final Report must consist of the following Seven components (a-f):
a. Cover Page and the Table of Contents – 2 Pages
b. Introduction – 1-2 Pages
• What is the significance of this topic?
• Brief Methodology
• Organization of the Report
c. Methodology – 1-2 Pages
d. Model Development Procedure – As per project
• Describe Software Used with Reasons
• Describe each step with Headings and Snapshots of Software/Model
e. Analysis of BIM Model – As per project
f. Conclusions and Recommendations – 1-2 Pages
• Impacts, Future outlook, Lessons learned, Conclusions from the analysis,
Findings/ Observations, Remarks ending the paper, Limitations of Study,
Recommendations.

g. Appendices
• Appendices include any supporting documents, Cost Information, data analysis
sheets, etc.
Report should be submitted along with the Project Model files. Reports without project
files will be considered as INCOMPLETE.
• Along with the Report, MUST attach Project Model File, Families, Plugins,
Project Schedules, Analysis Report, Cost Information File, Videos, Snapshots,
etc.)
• Also include any other supporting document used in the development of Model
Step 5: Present your Term Project in a Group Presentation, which will be held in the Week of
July 24, 2022. (Schedule to be posted later.)
The hard form of the Final Report is to be brought in by the group during the
Presentation.
III. GRADING
Term Paper will constitute (25%) marks of your Theory Sessional Work for the course,
distributed as follows:

work, at the time of Group Viva)

2. Sun, Shadow & Solar Study of BIM Model at Karachi with Different Surroundings
Solar heat gain, daylight and shadows of every building depends upon the location and
surrounding. Main BIM Model will be developed using Building Elements while the
surrounding buildings can be modeled using Masses (at least 2 Arrangements).
Geographic and Weather location should be Karachi, Pakistan.
3. Sun, Shadow & Solar Study of BIM Model at Different Climate zones of Pakistan
Solar heat gain, daylight and shadows of every building depends upon the location and
surrounding. Sun, Shadow & Solar Study of BIM Model at different Climate zones will be
compared.
5. Structural Analysis of BIM Model using Autodesk Revit Structural Analysis System
Group will be required to develop 3D BIM Model and analyze the structure of Model
using Autodesk Revit. Report should contain Load Cases considered and Final Results.
10. Clash Detection of BIM Architecture and MEP Model (HVAC Only)
Autodesk Revit will be used for Architecture and MEP Modeling. Both Model should
have separate Revit project file. Clashes should be identified between both the Models
using Clash Detective Tool. (Recommended Tool: Autodesk Navisworks)
