    1 BACH – 1ST TERM

    WRITING TASK

    Write a story about something interesting or amusing that happened while you were on holiday or
    travelling somewhere. Write about 120-150 words.

    STEPS

    1. Plan
    Brainstorm your ideas and makes notes about what happened.

    2. Organise: use paragraphs


    Paragraph 1 (set the scene: where, when and who).
    Paragraphs 2 and 3 (describe the main event/s).
    Paragraph 4 (you can either summarise the event/s or describe what happened after and the
    consequences).

    3. Draft
    Write your draft, paying special attention to misspellings and/or grammatical mistakes.

    REMEMBER TO:

    1. Be careful with narrative tenses (past simple, past continuous, past perfect, etc.)

    2. Use descriptive language for people, places and emotions.

    3. Employ time and sequence expressions.

    4. Make good use of punctuation.
