DETERMINE WHETHER THE FOLLOWING

1.) DETERMINE a. Jakarta SENTENCES ARE PROPOSITION

a.) Jakarta is the capital city of Indonesia

Answer: the sentence declares something, that is Jakarta can be either the capital city of Jakarta of Indonesia or
not .actually Jakarta is the capital city of indonesia.thus that sentence is a TRUE PROPOSITION.

b. 2x+6= 0

Answer: The sentence is not proposition. If we substitute x=3 we,will get a true proposition, but if we substitute x=2
,we will get a false proposition. This kind of sentence is known as open.sentence.

2- DETERMINE THE TRUTH VALUE OF THE FOLLOWING PROPOSITION!

1.P:THE SUM OF ANGLES IN ANY TRIANGLES IS 360*

Answer: T(P) = F

2. 4: √2 is irrational number

Answer: T(9) =P T

3. STATE THE NEGATION OF THE FOLLOWING PROPOSITIONS. AND THEN DETERMINE THEIR
TRUTH VALUES!

1. 2 is a Prime number

Answer: P:2 Is a prime number

≈ P:2 Is not a prime number

Because T(P)= T then T(≈P)=F

4- FIND THE TRUTH OF THE FOLLOWING. CONJUNCTIONS!

1. The Java Island a a prime number Island is greater than island and 2 is an even number.

Answer : P: THE JAVA ISLAND IS GREATER THAN IRIAN ISLAND

4: 2 IS AN EVEN NUMBER.

BASED ON THE TRUTH TABLE OF CONJUNCTION,BECAUSE R(P)=T AND T(4)=T,THEN R(P∧Q)=F

5. FIND THE TRUTH VALUES OF THE FOLLOWING DISJUNCTION!

1.2log 3. 3 log 8= Yogyakarta is an educational city.

Answer:

P: 2log 3. 3 log 8= 3

4: Yogyakarta is an educational city.

Based on the truth table of disjunction, because because T(p) = T and T(4)

=T,then T(P ∧ Q) = T

6.) FIND THE TRUTH VALUE OF THE FOLLOWING IMPLICATION!

1.If logs +log is 15=log 20,then log 15-log-log 5= log 3

Answer: P:log 5 + log 15=log 20

4:log 15- log 5 =log 3

Based on the truth table of Bimplication because = T(P) F and T (4)= T,thus T (P > 4)= T

7.)FIND THE TRUTH VALUES OF THE FOLLOWING BIIMPLICATION!

1- ²log 16= 4 if and only if 2⁴=16

Answer: P. 2log 16= 4

4:2⁴ =16

8.FIND THE CONVERSE,INVERSE AND CONTRAPOSITION FROM THE FOLLOWING IMPLICATIONS!

1.If the sun does not to be shine it will be rain.

ANSWER:

CONVERSE: IF IT RAINS,THEN THE SUN WILL NOT BE SHINE.

INVERSE: IF THE SUN SHINES,THEN IT DOES NOT RAIN.

CONTRAPOSITION: IF IT DOES NOT RAIN,THEN THE SUN WILL BE SHINE.

Form a group of 5 members, and discover how the golden ratio is evident in the human body.
MY DATA Measurement
in Centimeters

A. Distance from your knees to the ground. A. 43

B. Distance from your belly button to the ground. B. 88

C. Distance from the top of your head to your belly button. C.54

D. Distance from your wrist to your elbows. D.22

E. Length of your hand. E.19

Continuation: Measurement in Centimeters

My Data:
F= 5

G= 6

H= 12

Get the ratio of the following and round-off your answers to the nearest ten

thousandths place. 1) B / C = 88/54 =1. 6296

2) B / A = 88/43 = 2.0465
3) D / E = 22/19 = 1.1579

4) G / F = 6/5 = 1.2

5) H / G = 12/6 = 2.0

Determine if Division is a Binary Operation for all natural numbers.
A division is not a binary operation on the set of Natural numbers (N), integer (Z),
Rational numbers (Q), Real
Numbers(R), Complex number(C). Exponential operation (x, y) → xy is a binary
operation on the set of Natural numbers
(N) and not on the set of Integers (Z).
Determine whether the set of all positive integers is a Group under Multiplication.
the set of positive integers with the operation of multiplication does not form a
group as it does not contain inverse
elements. (d) The set of all positive even integers with the operation of
multiplication would not form a group because
this set does not contain inverses.

Directions: Provide at least three (3) examples for each item below with pictures or images.

1. Collect and discuss patterns in nature and in our world.

Natural patterns form as wind blows sand in the dunes of the Namib Desert. The crescent shaped
dunes and
the ripples on their surfaces repeat wherever there are suitable conditions.
Patterns of the veiled chameleon, Chamaeleo calyptratus, provide camouflage and signal mood
as well
as breeding condition.
aphids and newly born young in arraylike clusters on sycamore leaf, divided into polygons by
veins,
which are avoided by the young aphids
2. Present and discuss some other artworks in architecture that apply the golden ratio.

The Great Pyramid of Giza built around 2560 BC is one of the earliest examples of the use of the
golden
ratio. The length of each side of the base is 756 feet, and the height is 481 feet. So, we can find
that the ratio of
the vase to height is 756/481=1.5717.
3. Identify and discuss symmetries, fractals, and spirals in your surroundings.
symmetry: when different sides are alike.
fractals: iteratively smaller patterns.
fractals: iteratively smaller patterns.
4. Identify and discuss some applications of mathematics in society.
Preparing food. Figuring out distance, time and cost for travel. Understanding loans for cars,
trucks, homes,
schooling or other purposes. Understanding sports (being a player and team statistics)
