    2nd ENGLISH OLYMPICS 2019

    Theme: “Engaging Challenges through Creative Arts, Public Speaking and Writing”

    DECLAMATION CONTEST MECHANICS AND CRITERIA

    1. The contest is open to all competing group.


    2. Each group shall have ONE (1) participant.
    3. Each participant shall be performing the same piece: “Vengeance is Not Ours, It’s God’s”.
    4. The declaimer must perform during the program proper on November 29, 2019.
    5. The use of costumes, props, and any paraphernalia is allowed.
    6. The declaimer will be judged accordingly to the following criteria:

    Mastery of the piece (knowledge of material, hesitation, confusion, necessity for prompting)
    20%
    Enunciation (articulation, pronunciation, projection, pitch, and vocal quality) 20%
    Interpretation (comprehension and proper emphasis, creation of mood, phrasing, contrast,
    expression, spiritual or emotional effect) 30%
    Performance (proficient delivery, personal appearance, stage presence, organization of thought)
    30%
    Costume/Props 10%
    TOTAL 100%
    7. There will be one winner to declare. The pointing system is as follows:

    Champion 5 points
    1st 4 points
    2nd 3 points
    3rd 2 points
    4th 1 point
    5th 1 point
