William Tyndale – The Man Who Translated
the Bible into English. William Tyndale
was an English scholar who became a
leading figure in Protestant reform in the
years leading up to his execution. He is
well known for his translation of the
 Codex and the different codices and where can we find it?

A codex is an ancient book composed of one or more

quires of folded papyrus or parchment sheets that
form a set of leaves, or pages.
A codex manuscript is a written (but not printed)
work that is bound as a book. The British Library,
Leipzig University, Saint Catherine's Monastery,
and Russian Nat. Libr.
Illuminated manuscripts are handwritten books with
painted embellishment that often incorporates
precious metals like gold or silver. Can be found
in the V&A's National Art Library.
A Medieval Codex is a book consisting of pages
bound between two boards. The British Library in
London has it.
