The text
The Al-Aqsa Mosque, situated in the heart of the Old
City of Al Quods. It covers an area of approximately
144,000 square meters. Its vast dimensions make it one of
the largest and most historically significant mosques in the
world. It is one of the most revered and iconic landmarks
in the Islamic world. This holy site holds a special place in
the hearts of Muslims worldwide, not only for its religious
significance but also for its historical and architectural
importance.

The Al-Aqsa Mosque is considered the third holiest site in Islam, after the Kaaba in Mecca and
the Prophet's Mosque in Medina. It holds this esteemed position due to its association with the
miraculous Night Journey of the Prophet Muhammad.

This mosque's history is intertwined with the history of Al Quods itself. It is believed that the first
stone was laid on the site of Al-Aqsa in the 7th century, making it one of the oldest standing
structures in the city. The current structure, with its distinctive silver dome, was built during the
Umayyad Caliphate in the 8th century.

Al-Aqsa Mosque is not only a symbol of Islamic heritage but also a political symbol for the
Palestinian people. It has been a focal point in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and remains a source
of tension in the region.

Beyond its religious importance, the mosque serves as a gathering place for Muslims during
religious festivals and Friday prayers, further emphasizing its role as a spiritual and communal
center.
