EXERCISE NO. 9
The endocrine system is the second major control system of the body. Acting
with the nervous system, it helps coordinate and integrate the activity of the body. The
nervous system uses electrochemical impulses to bring about rapid control, whereas
the more slowly acting endocrine system uses chemical messengers, or hormones,
which ultimately enter the blood to be transported throughout the body.
