SECTION-1 GENERAL

SITE INFORMATION
The Contractor shall visit the site prior to making his bid and shall ascertain the
nature of strata, the earth, its quality/quantity, locations, and suitability to
meet the specified requirements, existing situation of working area and he
shall base his bid estimates solely on his own studies and tests.
Any information about the properties of the soil that may be shown on the
Drawings or obtained by the Contractor as a result of discussion with the
Engineer or others shall be prejudice and shall not be considered as a valid
basis for the Contractor's bid prices and subsequent execution and
completion of works. The bore logs shown on the Drawings, if any, are
tentative one and do not mean that the same strata will be involved during
boring. The Contractor may carry our boring as per the actual strata at no
additional cost to the Works.

LAYOUT
The layout of works for the purposes of execution of roads, water supply,
sewerage, drainage and facilities under the scope of work shall be carried
out by the Contractor subject to confirmation / check by the Engineer which
must be accurately as per the Drawings and instructions of the Engineer.
Before commencement of construction work, the layout shall be checked
and certified by the Engineer’s Representative or Engineer. The measurement
for payment shall not be taken for this item of the work, price shall be deemed
to be included in other items of Works.

SURVEY EQUIPMENT
The Contractor with the approval of the Engineer shall provide survey
equipment for the Engineer's Representative and his staff which shall be of
the number, type and quality (or equivalent) as listed in Table 1.1.
