General Notes:-

The words 'as described' where used in this Bill

mean as described in the above documents.

The 'Tenderer' is to price the piles according to

the drawings and arrangement and layout
required (See Piling Specifications and
Drawings)

The Tenderer may have to carry out his own soil

investigation in addition to the information given
an all costs in connection therewith are deemed
to be included in his Tender.

Prices for supply of piles shall include for all

necessary formwork including forming of
chamfered corners, reinforcement, lifting toggles,
pile shoes or extension base plates and
extension cap plates, mortices for centering bars
etc.

Prices for handling, transporting, pitching and

driving of piles shall be deemed to include the
provision of all necessary piling equipment and
other plant on site and dismantling and removing
the same on completion of the piling work.

Piling shall commence from platform level as

indicated in the construction drawings. Prices for
driving shall include for moving of pile frames
about the site, raising or lowering them and
re-driving of heaved piles.

The plant used for pile driving shall be hydraulic

hammer. The type and capacity is to the approval
of the S.O. Prices for testing of piles shall be
deemed to include the provision of all pile testing
equipment on site and dismantling and removing
the same on completion of the piling work.

Where pile for pile substitution of the Engineer's

designed piles with the piles obtained from
manufacturers of the same is approved by the
S.O. the prices herein shall apply to the approved
substitute.

Rates of Piling:-

The rates for piles and piling are to include for:

All materials for the complete pile inclusive of

wastage.

All necessary excavation works incidental to

piling works.

Normal wet weather delays.

Supply of piles shall be measured in the number

of pile supplied accepted and used. Prior to
ordering of piles, the contractor shall seek
approval from the Engineer on number of lengths
to be supplied, length of supplied of specific
mass per metre and cross section dimension.
The Contractor shall be responsible to disposed
of any undriven excess piles.

Driving of piles shall be measured along the axis

from the toe of the pile to the cut-off level as
specified.

Driving through whatever soil strata or material

encountered except rock, which is measured
separately.

Replacement of damaged piles and piles which

failed under tests.

Standing time for equipment and labour due to all

the foregoing circumstances.

Staging and platform for installation of piles on

embankments and slopes.

Take all measures to secure the supply of pile so

that there should not be any shortage of piles
upon starting of piling works on site.

Gather up and clear away all unused cut off piles,

rubbish, temporary installation/work and earth as
those accumulates during the progress of piling
works.

Temporary Works

A Allow for providing, maintaining, altering and

adapting (as and when necessary) all temporary
works in connection with taking over the site i.e.
slope protection and reinstatement of slopes,
temporary drainage, pumping, any additional
excavation required in conjunction with piling and
working space and any additional excavation
and filling required in conjunction with formation of
platforms for piling and be responsible for their
adequacy and all liabilities arising. ITEM --- --- 15,000.00

Piling Plant and Equipment

B Allow for provisional of all necessary piling

equipment, plant, cranes, tools and ancillary
equipment and for their transporting to site,
handling, assembling, erecting, dismantling and

C Allow for moving and handling piling equipment,

plant, cranes, tools and ancillary equipment
about the site as often and whenever necessary
for the execution of the whole piling operation etc
including all idling time and any excavation and
filling and staging required for moving the piling
equipment, plant, cranes, tools and ancillary
