PROJECT STEPS
1. As a marketing analyst at Elliott Reid Pharmaceuticals, you are developing a
report for other members of the Marketing Department. You created the report
using a template and need to customize elements of the document and its
formatting.
Change the left and right margins to 0.8" to remove the extra white space on
the cover page and reduce the length of the lines in the rest of the document if
a message appears warning about margins outside of the printable area, click
Ignore.
2. On page 1, remove the date content control using the shortcut menu, and then
use the delete key to delete the content control and the blank paragraph that
included the content control to avoid dating the report.
3. Type Elliott Reid in the Company Name content control to display the
company name on the cover page.
4. On page 2, create a new paragraph style as follows to use for introduction text:
a. Create a paragraph style named Intro based on the first body paragraph
("Why do consumers…and personal choice.").
6. Move row 4 using Shift+Control+Arrow in the "Top Reasons for Buying a New
Product" table so that it becomes row 1 and provides headings for each column
in the table.
b. Delete the text "[insert table here]" and paste the table in its place, using
Paste Special and pasting as a Microsoft Word Document Object.
b. Delete the text "[insert quotation here]" and paste the quotation in its
place, using Paste Special and pasting as a Microsoft Word Document
Object.
9. Insert a bulleted list Elliott Reid uses in many documents by creating and using
an Autotext entry as follows:
b. Insert the Survey Autotext entry in the blank paragraph at the end of the
document by clicking Insert at the system bar at the top of the screen,
hovering over Autotext, and clicking Autotext in the menu that appears
to the right. In the dialog box, select Survey in the list, then click Insert.
10. Change the bullet used in the new list to a checkmark (Wingdings font, bottom
row and fourth to the left in the grid) to add emphasis to the list.
Your document should look like the Final Figure on the following pages. Save your
changes, close the document, and then exit Word. Follow the directions on the website
to submit your completed project.
