AIM:

VERIFICATION OF BERNOoULLES THEOREM

Toverifythe Bernoulli's Theorenn
APPARATUS:

Bernoullii's apparatus, stop wvatch,

measuring scale.
EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURE:
L. Measure the internal dimensions of thecollecting tank. in open position.
2. Ensure whether the inlet and outlet valves are partially
Ensure whether the sump/reservoir is fully filled with water and then switch on the pump.
4 Now adjust the inlet valve and allow the water level in all the eleven piezometers to rise and
become steady.
5. This position of the inlet valve allows a uniform flow through thehorizontally placed variable
cross sectional glass duct.
6. Eject all the air bubbles in the piezometer tubes from the datum line by inserting a wire
through the top opening of the piezometer.
7. Measure the head of water in allthe eleven piezometer tubes from the datum line.
8. Measure the position (length) of the eleven piezometer tubes from a common reference point.
9. Close the outlet valve of the collecting tank firmly.
tank
10. Note down the time 't' in seconds for 'h' cm rise in the level of water in the collecting
and then immediately open the outlet valve fully.
for two more different
11. Change the position of the inlet valve and repeat steps 5 to 10
discharge rates.
