3.5 Software/Firmware
3.5.1 Temperature Control – System Offset and Gain.
The TC controller has been integrated
into the HPPC controller in this version of
the CPU Motherboard. The Gain and Offset
parameter settings that determine slope and
intercept (for Analog to Digital
Conversion) on the CPU mother board are
stored in Non-Volatile memory. They are
also recorded on a label affixed to the
board.
When replacing the CPU Mother board it is not necessary to set these
parameters in the Service Software before using the board. The parameters stored
in the on board Non-Volatile memory are written to the Instrument.ini file each
time the Dia software is loaded.
If it becomes necessary to modify
these parameters, follow the complete
Thermal Module Calibration
procedure in the D-10 Service
Manual (L200015501).
Changing the System Gain and
System Offset parameters in the
Thermal module control (4/7) Service
Software screen will change the
settings in the boards Non-Volatile
memory. If these parameters are changed, replace the label on the board
indicating the new values.
5. Remove the Right and Left side doors from the instrument.
6. Loosen the half turn fastener from the
Buffer tray side cover. Lift the cover and

2. Connect the power input
connectors to both power
supplies. Place any extra
length of cable in the two
anchors attached to the ATX
supply.
5. Locate the green/yellow Power Input Module to chassis ground wire. If the
ground wire is routed over the Electronic Module power input cables remove
it from the Chassis end. Reconnect the ground wire so that it is routed under
the power cables. This will provide more cable length to the Electronic
Assembly providing extra clearance when installing the assembly.
9. Verify that the cable is properly folded into a right angle configuration and
that the cable is not bunched at any of the bends. Install the X-Cable from the
Power Supply side of the module. Carfully slide the cable between the module
and X-Head board
