Summary
Max Wong joined the Malaysian Administrative and Diplomatic
Service Corps (PTD) in 2005. He was initially assigned to the
Ministry of Health, where he played a vital role in establishing the
Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC), a federal agency
dedicated to promoting the country's thriving medical tourism
industry. In 2015, Max Wong was transferred to the Ministry of
International Trade and Industry (MITI) to oversee emerging ESG
issues such as labor, climate change, and energy. During this time,
he also served as one of the official negotiators representing the
country at the UN Climate Change Conference. In 2020, Max Wong
was awarded the prestigious HLP scholarship by the Government of
Malaysia to pursue a full-time doctoral program in the field of SDG/
ESG. Upon graduation, he is expected to resume his responsibilities
in the service.
