PROJECT BASED EXPERIENCE

The start of coronavirus 2019 was a big shock to the world. A lot of people in the world were
affected by it, a lot of businesses closed and one of the businesses that needs to be closed is our
printing shop and my mom’s work in a nail salon also closed. We were affected by it. My parents lost
their jobs. The government gave help with the Social Amelioration Program or SAP and they also
gave food packs. Filipinos response to the pandemic is to do swab testing everywhere, to wear a
mask and a face shield wherever you go. And teenagers below 18 are also not allowed to go out. We
were put into a lockdown many times but It just doesn’t work. Everytime we were in lockdown the
cases would go down but because of the people’s need they needed to go out to work and to earn
money for their family so if the government lifts the lockdown the cases will increase again. It is
always the same situation everytime and it is very tiring, and it is like the same cycle. We are going to
put it into a lockdown then the cases will somehow decrease but then when the lockdown gets lifted
the cases will increase again.

My family received help from the government which is the Social Amelioration Program or SAP
money but we just received it once and my parents needed to have a job because we need to have
money to survive the pandemic.

The government also implemented a curfew for every Filipino to follow but a lot of people also
violated that. They also banned alcohol beverages. And they also banned any social gatherings. We
did social distance to every person even if it is our own family. My family and I experienced going
into a quarantine and to social distance inside our own house for safety because my parents work
outside everyday and they encountered many different people so we need to distance ourselves
from them to make sure of our safety.
