Directions: Read and analyze the questions carefully.
1. Read an article about the origin of COVID-19 and discuss how this pandemic affect human life today. COVID-19 is one of the deadliest infectious disease that emerged in our history recently. Even before, it emerges in the late 2000 and 2012 it is still not that deadly because it does not transmit to humans but now it is. It is originated in Wuhan China wherein the people get it to the bats by eating them and now it can transfer to other person in terms of saliva. If that liquid gets in to your system, it will attack your immune system to weaken you. That's why this pandemic really affects our lives because as much as possible we should stay at home. We cannot go now anywhere we want to recklessly unlike before because there are now protocols to check if you are wearing face mask, face shield, and most importantly following the one and only rule social distancing. There are also strict curfews to follow now unlike before too. Even our education system because our class before is face to face but now it is through online. That's why there are many students and teachers are having difficulties in coping with this because it just so hard. Even me as a student are having a hard time to this. The system of our production to our country also stops that's why there are many businesses have closed and even their workers don't have a work now because they are only depending to it but because of the pandemic they didn't even know how to give the needs of their family. Also, the unemployment rate in our country have increased excessively that's why it will be hard to the government now to solve the poverty in our country. Even the government don't know how to control the increasing rate of COVID-19 patients. This pandemic also affects our physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual aspects of our lives. That's why it is important for us to have discipline because even our small things we do can greatly help or affect our country to the better. 2. In your opinion, what is the role of social science in times of COVID- 19? I believe that the role of social science in this time of pandemic is to know how the human and the society works such as their relationships, institutions, and their behaviors for them to know how they influence the world to give solution for the people to follow on because if they know how the people think, they will come up to a solution that the people will follow willingly.
