Wilson’s mass on Earth surface is 85 * 6 points

kg. Calculate his weight when he goes

to the surface of :

a. The Moon (g = 1.62 N/kg)

b. The Mars (g = 3.77 N/kg)

A.Weight= Mass x Gravity (1,62 equalized to 2)

= 85kg x 2 n/kg
= 170 Newtons

B.Weight= Mass x Gravity (3.77 equalized to 4)

= 85kg x 4 n/kg
= 340 Newtons

The mass of an object is measured on * 6 points

Earth is 78 kg. The object taken to the

Moon (1.62 N/kg). Find

a. It mass

b. It weight

A.Mass is universal and it does not change

wherever you go in the universe. Thus the mass of
the object remains the same, 78kg.

B.Weight= Mass x Gravity (1,62 equalized to 2)

= 78kg x 2 n/kg
= 156 Newtons

So the answer is 156 Newtons.

A woman starts to push a trolley * 5 points

across the floor. Fig. 5.1 shows the

horizontal forces acting on the trolley.

answer.

pressureontheground=..............................unit

A. Resultant force = 221-92 = 129 Newtons

Direction of force = Forwards of the person pushing
the trolley or to the left direction.

B. Pressure = Force/Area (2.5cm2 x 4 wheels)

= 700 N/ 10cm2
= 700 N/ 0.001 m2
= 700,000 N/m2

So the answer is 700,000 Newtons/meter squared.

(The cm2 must be converted to m2 due to m2 being
the one in SI)

Fig. 6.1 represents gas particles in a * 5 points

container. The container is at room

temperature.

(a) Gas particles show very random, constant, and

high-speed motion. They move in straight lines
however, colliding with each other and the container
walls.

(b) When cooled, gas particles slow down and have

less kinetic energy. They move with lower velocity
and collide less frequently, reducing pressure.

(c) Gas particles exert pressure by constantly

colliding with the container walls.

This question about thermal energy * 5 points

(a) The transfer of thermal energy through a metal is

called "conduction."

(b) Thermal energy from the heated metal transfers

to water through conduction, causing heated water
to rise, creating convection currents.

(c) The can with the black outer surface has the
greater increase in temperature. This is because
black surfaces absorb more sunlight and heat
compared to white surfaces. The black can absorbs
a larger amount of solar radiation, which gets
transferred to the water inside through conduction.
As a result, the water in the black can heats up
faster and to a greater extent than the water in the
white can, which reflects more sunlight and absorbs
less heat.

A car 3000kg moves at first distance * 5 points

100km for 4 hours and second

distance 90 km for 3 hours. Determine
:
a. It first and second velocity
b. It acceleration
c. Force it needs

(Every single decimal number is rounded to 2

decimal places.)
A.
Velocity 1 = Distance / Time = 100 km / 4 hours = 25
km/h

Velocity 2 = Distance / Time = 90 km / 3 hours =

33.3 km/h we

B.
Accleration =
Change in velocity ( N velocity - First velocity) / Time

Accleration 1 = (25 km/h - 0 km/h) = 25 km/h =7.08

m/s2
Accleration 2 = (33.3 km/h - 25 km/h) = 8.3 km/h =
2.3 m/s2

C.
Force = Mass x Accleration

Force 1 = 3000 kg × 7.08 m/s2 = 21240 N

Force 2 = 3000 kg × 2.3 m/s2 = 6900 N

A motorcycle 450kg moves with force * 3 points

600N. Find the acceleration

Accleration = Force / Mass

= 600N / 450kg
= 1.33 m/s2
(Rounded to 2 decimal places)

A man drive a car 3500kg. at first * 9 points

distance 80km he needs 75 minutes,

at second distance 90km he needs 80
minutes and at third distance 80km he
needs 65 minutes. Find his :
a. First, second and third velocity
b. Acceleration
c. Force with the car

(Every single decimal number is rounded to 2

decimal places.)
A.
Velocity 1 = Distance / Time = 80 km / 1.25 hours =
64 km/h

Velocity 2 = Distance / Time = 90 km / 1.33 hours =

67.5 km/h

Velocity 3 = Distance / Time = 80 km / 1.08 hours =

73.85 km/h

B.
Accleration =
Change in velocity ( N velocity - First velocity) / Time

Accleration 1 = (64 km/h - 0 km/h) = 64 km/h =

17.78 m/s2
Accleration 2 = (67.5 km/h - 64 km/h) = 3.5 km/h =
0.97 m/s2
Accleration 3 = (73.85 km/h - 67.5 km/h) = 6.35
km/h = 1.76 m/s2

C.
Force = Mass x Accleration

Force 1 = 3500 kg × 17.78 m/s2 = 62230 N

Force 2 = 3500 kg × 0.97 m/s2 = 3395 N

Force 3 = 3500 kg × 1.76 m/s2 = 6160 N

A motorcycle moves on a straight line * 3 points

track 15km with work 0.002 MJ.

Calculate it Force

Force = Work / Distance

= 2000 Joules / 15,000 Meter
= 1.33 Newtons
(Rounded to 2 Decimal places)

So the force used is equal to 1.33 Newtons

A driver drives a car for 60km with * 3 points

force 6.5 Newtons. Calculate the work

he needs

Work = Force x Distance

= 6.5 Newtons x 60,000 Meters
= 390,000 J = 390 KJ

So the work he needs is 390 Kilo Joules.

A bus moves with work 5kJ with force * 3 points

25N. How far it moves?

Distance = work / force

= 5000j / 25 n
= 200 Meters

So the bus moves 200 meters.
