PETALING JAYA: A former beauty queen was arrested early today for allegedly crashing
into a roadblock on the Federal Highway near Petaling Jaya and punching a policeman
early today.

The 28-year-old, who was believed to be under the influence of alcohol, was driving her
vehicle from the city centre towards Petaling Jaya with a friend seated beside her when
she arrived at the roadblock about 3am.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Fakhruddin Abdul Hamid said the
woman did not stop her vehicle and instead crashed through the roadblock.

"A police patrol vehicle gave chase and she was eventually detained," Fakhruddin told
Harian Metro today.

When she was stopped, the woman became even more aggressive and punched a
policeman who tried to arrest her.

"Her friend was injured too after being punched by the suspect, who was believed to be
drunk. The woman was then detained and brought to the district police headquarters for
further action.

"The suspect is being remanded for two days to facilitate investigations under Section
26(2) of the Police Act, Section 353 of the Penal Code and Section 22(b) of the
Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988," he said.

Urine tests conducted on the suspect and her friend also came back positive for cannabis
use.
