OBJECTIVES to welcome the students in their new class and make
them feel at ease. to set a positive tone for the beginning of each school day. to help them acclimatize to structured environment. to promote their sense of belonging and boosting their academic engagement. to introduce set of classroom rules and sensitize them to positive social behaviour through storytelling. to enhance three domains of learning: cognitive, affective, and psychomotor. METHOD Teacher welcomes each child to the class by offering a flower with a quote on it. Children introduce themselves adding the same quote and colour the given flower. Teacher narrates a short story with a fundamental moral value to the students. All together with the teacher sing a welcome song. OUTCOME Students will be able to- explore different areas of interest. increase self-confidence and feel appreciated. remain comfortable, happy and enthusiastic throughout the day. develop their Imagination and creativity.
TAKE AWAY Self-Introduction helps them better connect with their
peers and enhances communication skills. Storytelling fosters their imaginative skills and encourages them to be creative. Willingness to express themselves and communicate their thoughts and feelings. They learn to be patient and listen to others.
