INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS FOR ARALING PANLIPUNAN

TOPIC: Kabuhayan at Pinagkukunang Yaman

Instructional materials make learning more interesting, practical, realistic and appealing especially in Araling Panlipunan.
They also enable both the teachers and students to participate actively and effectively in lesson sessions. They give room
for acquisition of skills and knowledge and development of self- confidence and self- actualization. Instructional materials
also enhance the teaching/learning process by exhibiting information necessary to acquire knowledge and skills. The
acquisition of basic vocational knowledge, skills and attitudes to facilitate occupational efficiency requires skill-oriented
teaching and learning activities.

As you can see my Instructional Materials are a mix of

traditional and a bit of modern. I included a television because
educators usually use TV in the classroom to satisfy a variety of
objectives: To reinforce and expand on content being taught.
To respond to a variety of learning styles. To increase student
motivation to learn. Television caters to the different learning
styles of students, by offering a unique combination of sight,
sound, motion and emotion, which can give students a greater
understanding of the world around them. They can see
historical events enacted, explored and novels come to life
that are tackled in Araling Panlipunan. These instructional
materials bring life to learning by stimulating students to learn
and also increases interaction among students and provides
conducive environment to learn fellow students.
Here on the hand made ones, I used basic white
cartolina, colored papers and pens to make it more
colorful and eye catchy for the students. I included
some game materials that is related to the topic. using
games in teaching can help increase student
participation, foster social and emotional learning, and
motivate students to take risks. Through games,
students can learn a variety of important skills. There
are countless skills that students can develop through
game playing such as critical thinking skills, creativity,
teamwork, and good sportsmanship. For example,
with my Spanish students, circumlocution is a very
important skill.
