Assessment in learning refers to the process of gathering, describing or quantifying


information about the student’s performance assessment includes paper and pencil test,
extended responses (opinion-based questions, essay, reflection paper) and
performance assessment are usually referred to as “authentic assessment” task
(reporting, presentation, research work).
Assessment of learning let teachers determine the progress or application of knowledge
and skills against a standard during or after instruction. In here, learning goals are being
clarified by identifying learning errors and providing feedback to the students.
Assessment for learning can be made precise, accurate and dependable only if what
are able to achieved are clearly stated and feasible. The learning targets, involving
knowledge, reasoning, skills, products, and effects are needed to be stated in
behavioral terms, which denote something which can be observed through the behavior
of the students to clarify the student learning and to check the progress and learning to
help to determine how and what tom improve.
Assessment as learning can help students to have deeper learning, how to learn and
make learning lifelong. In here, learning takes responsibility for their own learning
process. This can also let them explore more and explore how to improve by using
different learning strategies. Assessment as learning can also build collaborations,
reflection and self-evaluation regarding the success and failure of learning.
