Assistance Programme administered by the Ministry of Rural Development.

Under the NSAP guidelines, at present, a pension of Rs 300 per month is
provided as pension to persons with disabilities. The guidelines enable the
States/Union Territories to provide additional amounts according to their
financial capacity. The statement which has been tendered by
Ms Aishwarya Bhati, Additional Solicitor General indicates that currently
States and Union Territories are providing top-ups ranging from Rs 200 to
Rs 3,300, in addition to the amount provided by the Central Government.

2 At this stage, in order to enable the Court to have comprehensive data on

the record, the Union of India is directed to collect data and relevant
rationale from all States and Union Territories on social security schemes
developed for persons with disability in comparison with pensions and social
security schemes developed for other segments of society. The data shall be
collected within a period of six weeks from today. The Union of India shall
thereafter file a status report within four weeks thereafter.

3 List the Petition on 12 January 2024.
