For VDR (MSC.333(90): Inclinometer with an electronic output must be recorded if fitted. Electronic logbook must be recorded if fitted.
For VDR (A.861(20)): Recording of AIS is optional.
For all VDR: Acceleration and hull stresses must be recorded where ship is fitted with IMO mandated monitoring equipment. Wind speed
and direction must be recorded where ship is fitted with suitable sensor.
For S-VDR: Must be recorded if sensor data is available in accordance with IEC61162).

Radar data may be substituted by AIS if the radar for technical reasons cannot be connected to an S-VDR.

4.1 APT
4.1.1 Rudder
The data from the equipment is unreadable. The output of the equipment, cabling and
communication parameters on the VDR configuration must be checked

4.1.2 Fixed capsule orange foil

The capsule orange foil has faded/been damaged. Use P/N: 3302200 Orange foil, replacement for
Danelec MK3 capsule.
This issue was also found during the last APT. All issues described in the latest APT review report
must be corrected.

4.1.3 APT Tool

Latest APT tool version 2.13 should be used. New APT tool can be downloaded from the partner
site. (This is not accord to the terms set in Danelec Service Policy Commitment)

4.1.4 VDR status

The auxiliary fan in the right side of the DPU is switched on regularly. This indicates that the
primary fan located in the lid of the DPU is defective or alternatively that the environmental
temperature where the DAU is installed is high. The primary fan located in the lid of the DPU must
be checked.

4.2 VDR Explorer
4.2.1 AMS
The AMS data should be decoded with suitable objects. Refer to equipment documentation on the
ship for info, otherwise inform owner/crew to seek manufacturers for relevant NMEA decoding list
to interpret the data.

5 Danelec Marine’s acceptance
A major issue and a number of minor issues (which must be fixed latest at the next APT) were
discovered during the review.

Danelec Marine has reviewed the APT data and will issue a certificate when issue described in
section 4.1.1 is resolved.
