Marketing Department of Vietnam National Rail Service. You have been


asked to choose 3 words or phrase to serve as your organization’s brand
values. Now work with your partner to discuss and decide the brand values
to the Marketing Director. Explain the reasons why the values are the most
important
A: Good morning B. So good to see you here.Let’s have a seat please.
B: Hi A. How are things ?
A: I’m good. I hope you too. Today, We are here to discuss and decide the
brand values for our company products that we want to present to the marketing
director
B: That’s right. What do you think about the organization's brand values?
A: Oh.I think we have 3 brand values that are reliability, comfort and quality.
Our customers associate us with the highest quality products. That's my opinion,
what about you?
B: In my opimion, I suggest three brand values which are good value for
money, environmentally aware and customer focus. For us, the customer always
comes first and we want to constantly remind both ourselves and our customers
of that fact.
A: Oh, that’s great. But now, we both only need to choose three of the brand
values mentioned. I think, I choose “quality” and “comfort” as the two most
important brand values of the company. Because “quality” and “comfort” are
two important values that customers need in our company. What do you think
about this?
B: That sounds great and I’d like to have your opinion, I want to offer the lasr
brand value, 'customer focus'. As you know, the attentive and good care will
make our customers happy with us.
A: You’re right. Let me confirm the three brand values that we discussed. These
include ‘quality’, ‘comfort’ and ‘ customer focus’. I will present our ideas to the
Marketing Director in our next meeting.

Eagle Air, a budget airline, which currently flies within ASEAN countries
and wants to choose one of the three cities Singapore, Guangzhou and
Bangkok to add to its travel destinations. Now, discuss and choose the best
data collection method for your airline.
A: Hi B. How are you?
B: Oh Hi A. Not bad. I hope you too
A: Well, you know that We need to choose one of the three cities Singapore,
Guangzhou, and Bangkok to add to our travel destinations. According to you,
which market research method is suitable?
B: I prefer street interview, we just stop passengers at the airports and ask for
their opinion. So that we can focus on our target group and have a high response
rate
A: That’s true. But it would cost a fortune, and it’s hard to stop people at the
airports to interview them.
B: You’re Right. So,how about your viewpoint?
A: I prefer online surveys because it’s quicker and cheaper than street
interview.
B: I agree with you on that. But online survey can lead to a skewed sample?

Viettel Company. Your company is going to introduce a new DSL package
in the Cammbodian market. Now discuss a pricing strategy for your new
services.
A: Hi B. How are you
B:Oh Hi A. Not bad. I hope you too.
A: Please take a seat. As you already know. Today, We need to discuss the new
DSL package in Cambodian market
B: Ok. I got what you mean.
A:What would be the pricing model for the new DLS package in your mind?
I prefer pay-per-use pricing model.
B: Oh. I am so sorry I can’t agree with you about this suggestion. Because I
think Cambodian people will prefer something cheap or free at first. It would be
better to adopt a penetration pricing strategy or charge a monthly flat fee and
give away free cable modems for customers to use.
A: Hmmm. I’m afraid this penetration pricing strategy doesn’t look alright.
Because customers may switch to another company after the promotion. But I
agree with the monthly flat fee and give away free cable modems to customers.
However, the modems should only be compatible with our company’s
technology so that customers cannot switch to another company.
B: Huhm…It would be great to combine the two strategies. First, we use the
penetration pricing model for the first six months and give away free cable
modems to customers. After that, charge flat fees monthly. How do you think?

company is expanding services in the UK and is interested in hiring Total
Telemarketing to design and carry out a telemarketing strategy for this
product. Now you make a phone call to a partner (Candidate B) at Total
Telemarketing to ask about some information.
A: Ring ring ring
B: Good afternoon. Total Telemarketing. B speaking. How can I help you?
A: Oh, Hi B. I am A from Geldsburg in Switzerland, a Swiss manufacturer of
hand-held barcode scanners. I’d like to ask some information about your
telemarketing services
B:Oh, yes. What exactly would you like to know?
A: My company plans to expand services in the UK. We’d like you to design
and carry out a telemarketing strategy for our product. And could you tell me if
the services are priced per call or per hour?
B: If you use our service within one week or less , price will be charged per
call . If it’s longer , we charge per hour.
A: Alright, I got it now. We would like to pay per call. How much time do you
need to prepare before you’re ready to begin?
B: We are ready. It’s up to you.
A: Oh, we need to begin as soon as possible. And, lastly, we want to know the
support you need from my company to develop the campaign?
B: For support issues, your company should be involved in to get better results.
A: Hmm we are so sorry. We are not able to be involved at all so we suggest
Total Telemarketing should handle everything. In fact, we are too busy at the
current time.
B: Okay. We will do it. I’d like to discuss with my colleagues then come back

FLOWCHART5 : Suppose you (Candidate A and Candidate B) work for
the Marketing Department of Furniture & Home Accessories. Your
company manufactures products such as Gifts & Handicrafts, Home
Furnishings.. You (Candidate A) have just received a brochure about a
trade fair that will take place in Thailand in the next two months. Now you
and your head/manager (Candidate B) are discussing whether your
company should attend that trade fair.

A: Hi B. How are you ?


B:Oh Hi A. Not bad. I hope you too.
A : I got the new that there’s a furniture trade fair in Thailand in the next two
months. We need to decide whether our company should take part in this trade
fair or not.
B: I got it now, just go ahead.
A: The trade fair in Thailand will take place in the next 2 months. I think we
should attend it , because it’s a very high profile event. Everyone in the
Furniture industries knows and attends it.
B: I’m not sure about that . The trade fair lasts at least 4 weeks. So , if we attend
, it will take a lot of time and money , such as cost of participation, travel ,
accommodation.
A: In my opinion, there are a lot of added benefits when we join in the trade
fair.We can introduce new products to a large number of people , and we can
meet potential customers.
B: But , choosing the wrong trade fair can result in introducing products or
services to the wrong customers. Also , I’m worried that , poor promotion
means that , the cost of attending the trade fair will overweigh the revenue you
gain
A: Huh.. The trade fair will enhance goodwill, gain more publicity and improve
the image of our company. And, I think it’s a good chance to gather information
about competitors.
B: That’s good point. I’ll look at the budget this afternoon, and give final
decision tomorrow.
