“The Rising Influence of Today's Youth”

An informative speech

Good morning, everyone. Today, I'd like to discuss a topic that holds great
significance in our society, “The youth of today.” As we all know, Dr. Jose Rizal was a
great national hero of our country that he once famously stated, "Ang kabataan ang pag-
asa ng bayan," which translates to "The youth is the hope of the nation." This quote
resonates not only in the Philippines but also in societies worldwide. So, I'd like to delve
into the deeper meaning behind this statement and shed light on the significant role that
the youth of today play as the potential saviors and builders of our nation's future.

Dr. Rizal’s quote emphasized the idea that the youth hold the key to the nation’s
progress and development. In a rapidly changing world, it is today’s young people who
are challenging the status quo, and advocating for social justice and sustainability. They
are termed nowadays as “woke” people which describes them to be open to current
issues of social injustice. However, it is important to acknowledge that they also face
their share of challenges from educational barriers to mental health. To fulfill its role as
the aspiration of the nation, society must be provided with quality education, guidance,
and a supportive environment.

So, the timeless quote of Rizal indicates the huge potential and responsibility
placed upon the youth of today. Their ideas, energy, and determination are powerful
drivers for progress and positive change. And so, we should create an environment that
fosters their growth thus, by investing in today's youth, we invest in a better tomorrow.
