Summary
Not only being applied to high technology, Chatbot - a virtual agent - has been used by businesses
to replace customer service employees. This research employs quantitative method to analyze the
impact of Chatbot on decision to purchase on electronic platforms. The results point out two factors
having direct effects on customers’ purchase decision, which are Perceived value; Human-like
programming. Also, there are four factors creating indirect impacts, which are Perceived usefulness;
Perceived risks; Perceived ease of use and Human-like programming. From those findings, the
authors propose some solutions to make the connection between the parties more effective.
