The table gives information about the proportion of mobile phone users that used different features on their phones
in 2006, 2008, and 2010.

Overall, making phone calls was the most commonly used feature, while searching the internet and recording video
became much more popular once they became available in 2008.

Between 2006 and 2008, all phone owners used their phones to make calls, although this figure dropped slightly to
99 percent in 2010. The next most popular feature was texting, which had a small increase over the period,
climbing from 73 percent of users in 2006 to 79 percent in 2010. Taking photos also had a similar rise, with a 10
percent increase from 66 to 76 percent over the four years shown.

The biggest increases were for the remaining features. Playing games and playing music both more than doubled in
popularity. The percentage of people playing games on their phones was 17 percent in 2006 and just over 40
percent in 2010, while playing music grew from about one-eighth of phone users to a little over a quarter.

Finally, searching the internet went from being unavailable in 2006 to 73 percent of phone owners using this feature
in 2010. While recording video also became a new feature at the same time, only around one-third of people used
this feature by 2010. (199 words)
