LADY DI

Diana Frances Spencer was born in 1961, near Sandringham, in England.

She was the daughter of John Spencer, who turned an Earl. That, made her become
lady Diana Spencer, or as we know her, Lady Di.

At the age of seventeen, she moved to London. It was at that time, when she met
Charles. The son of Elisabeth II and the future king of England.

They fell in love, and they got married in 1981, all the media attention was focused on
them. Two years latter, Prince William was born, and soon, they had a second child,
Prince Harry.

While Diana was having a hard time getting used to the life in the Palace, she started
contributing in charity organizations, campaigns against aids, and activities to
help homeless people.

However, Diana and Charles get divorced in 1996. In fact, in an interview that Lady
Di made for the BBC, she said that in her marriage there were three people. She
meant that her husband was cheating on her. She also mentioned that she suffered
from bulimia and depression. What’s more, she was feeling overwhelmed because
paparazzi always fallowed her.

The princess was still the princess for the people, and the media were always
watching
all her movements.

They saw, that Diana had a lover, the Egyptian producer Dodi Al-Fayéd. On the
morning of August 31st 1997, during a visit to Paris, the couple had a car accident
while they were trying to escape from paparazzi in a tunnel. This accident took the
life of both of them.

However, there are some rumours that explain they really didn’t have an accident.
Some people say that The British Royal House and Elisabeth II had caused the
accident. Elisabeth hated that Lady Di was more loved than her son. Also, one day
before they crushed, they were going to announce that they were engaged. That
wouldn’t be approved by The British Royal House. They didn’t want that a man from
another nationality and another religion, was Prince Harry and William’s stepfather.

One thing that made this accident weird is that none of the fourteen cameras that
were in the tunnel, recorded the accident. And the other one is that the ambulance
that took Diana, still alive, didn’t go directly to the first hospital, which was closer.
They took her to another hospital. So, when they arrived after two hours, Diana had
already died.

After her death, The British Royal House, didn’t want to celebrate her funeral as she
was no longer a member of the family. However, they had to listen to people’s claim
and celebrate a funeral in her honour in the Buckingham Palace, which was attended
by 2 million people.

I’ve chosen her because she is one of the most popular characters in the British
Monarchy. She will always be remembered and loved by British people for her
charisma and kindness with everyone.
